@Anton2004 LOL I thought this too! But up until that point, he had just been overtaken on the outside once - the overtake he is talking about... It's like Massa was watching.
Compared to Vettel he is an arrogant prick. Hamilton said "he felt like he was driving with Ayrton Senna and the previous champions" 2 races before he won in 2007. And he lost. Vettel had 1 point left to get in 5 races and they sent him the FIA F1 Championship papers and he threw them in the trash until he had officially won. That's a true champion, HUMBLE!
It is out of context because in that interview he was talking about the fact massa two weeks earlier (in budapest) overtook him on the outside, and that it was the first time it ever happened

Agreed with the comments. All sports man who are successful are cocky to an extent. In this vid he was probably stating fact and didnt come across as being arrogant.
well its not cocky-ness its fact you can be arrogant to a certain level exploit your talent don't call him arrogant because i don't think you can get and f1 car on the outside of him
You can be overtaken on any side on the first lap you prick he is on about during that like after the first lap, by the way there is a difference between being cocky and being good and he is very good
what is peoples problem with him is is a world class driver and he is correct i have not seen him over taken on the out side very much becuase his defensive driving style is awesome
why are people here talking about Hamsters karting records.....to continue this argument then, it must seem that Nico Hulkenberg is the greatest driver around...... oh, and Hamilton is no great driver. I'd take Button every day of the week. In another 10 years Hamilton will be one of those random, lucky drivers that got a championship between the Schumi/Vettel era.
@55DJL Well atleast Vettel, Raikkonen and Kubica are more modest than Lewis and Falonso Eyebrow Santander....and that's why those 3 are my fav F1 drivers.....sure Ham and Eyebrow arent bad drivers, but I just cant their personality....but I know that many Falonso and Ham fans feel the same way about Kimi...
Thats what he thinks, it might be wrong but thats what he thinks. Theres nothing wrong with what he says and im flagging this video because of the misleading title.
This 10 seconds doesn't show the context in which this response is based on. You can take a few words from any interview and make it out to be something it's not....this means absolutely nothing!!
@qazwsxedc129 not good enough for you? I read him saying in an interview that he destroyed alonso in 2007. Pretty arrogant don't you think? Maybe they should ask him what jenson has done to him this year if he believes ending up tied on points equals destroying.
@aieljose That one sounds a bit dodgey...but I'm not going to say anything either way because I haven't heard that before. As for this year Jensons done nothing to him, considering Lewis had a tough year with 3 DNF's and many penalties he didn't finish too far behind and got the 3 wins just like Button. Not that I don't like Button, I just love Hamiltons driving style....the characteristics of many F1 greats.
@qazwsxedc129 2 of those dnf's were his fault. The other was a mechanical dnf. Jenson has had 2 mechanical dnf's by comparison. Jenson done the better job this year. Even hamilton acknowledges this and what is hamiltons style? Go all out burn out your tires early then crash into someone? Because thats what he been doing for the last year and a half on a consistent basis. He simply has learned to adapt his style to suit the pirellis which is a real weakness. He may have the pace over jenson but
@aieljose Canada, definitely Lewis, one mechanical and it wasn't his fault at Spa. But that's starting a whole other debate! This has been one of Buttons best years and if you look at this year alone, yes he has done a better job. What I'm saying about his driving style is he makes the kind of overtakes other people don't even attempt, I'd rather see drivers try and fail then not try at all. This video shows what I mean: watch?v=2vcGYuGNPS0 . But ignore the lame editing just look at the driving!
@qazwsxedc129 well hamilton admitted to being at fault in spa but yes i agree with you that he has made some great overtakes when he does get it right.

@uessaloniki oh do me a favour seriously! the fact of the matter is, he very rarely does get over taken, and he is just one of the few who provides a master class in formula 1 on just how to overtake someone. can you honestly say you see him getting over taken alot, NO, that's because he doesn't. the guy is a world champion, so even is he was being cocky and arrogant, deservedly so. look at christiano ronaldo, there is a prime example of someone cocky and arrogant, i dont like him, but he's good
Respond to this video... he doesn't speak in a cocky and arrogant tone, he's just simply stating a fact, because its true. its like if vettel answered a question with "well no because im a two time world champion" i wouldnt say that cocky and arrogant, the guy would be stating what he is, and again, deservedly so, so take your condescending, outlandish and bullshit of an opinion and shove it up your arse!

this is from ages ago when he first joined f1, he had no experience in choosing his words properly, loads of young f1 drivers put their foot in their mouth. this one isnt even that bad who remembers when he said "its better to be up the front than at the back with all the monkeys" haha
@fiwo2 In all honesty, I felt that Kimi's motivation was already beginning to sag even before he won the World title. Maybe around 2006-ish, that's when he first showed the early signs of an "I'm not sure I enjoy this anymore" mentality. Gradually, it became "I really do not want to be here." If he does come back with Williams next year, I don't know what he expects to be different. I've followed Lewis for 15 years and have a lot of time for him, but I can't deny he's disappointed me lately.
@fiwo2 The problem with Raikkonen was the same one that Lewis has now - it stopped being about hard racing and getting on with the job and slowly became more and more about, glamour girls, agents, ego, cash and bling. Lewis would never have arrogantly strutted 'round in "don't ever make eye contact with me" shades and blundered into other cars that he doesn't seem to realise are there in his brilliant rookie season. I also felt Raikkonen was best in the early days, before ice cream and loafers.
@TittyTittyBangBangXX Button is not cocky like Lewis yes, but not brilliant like Lewis. This indeed was super cocky by Hamilton. McLaren should replace him with someone else.
@KeepYourHandup972 Hamilton gets involved in more racing incidents than Button, He's a little too aggressive sometimes. Button is in 2nd place this year with 1 race to go.
@TittyTittyBangBangXX Wrong... Button will never "Outperform" Lewis, thats why its 13 - 6 qualifying to lewis. the only time button "beats" lewis is when lewis has a problem. case closed, Hamilton is a million times better than button the wannabe, Go ask alonso who hell be watching in the winter... because its sure as hell not button or vettel the taxi drivers.
Lol the lot of you just sum up Hamilton's fan base really... I'm a McLaren fan so don't even start but pretty much all of you let the team down. Great fan base we have.
Hamilton IS the most naturally gifted driver out there...but the fact is, he hasn't pieced it together consistently since his rookie season in 2007, in spite of his title win. He's a Montoya - fast, but extremely error-prone and in constant conflict with the stewards (though I will admit that stewards have been on a witch hunt with him sometimes - Spa 2008 being a classic case in point). The best in the World ON PAPER, but right now not in practice in my view.
@azapro911 Naa he is not, he causes accidents, silly mistakes and also has an attitude when things don't go his way (like a child) including that he does have a baby face. Vettel is the most gifted driver out there, and even from karting, he has the persistancy, mind set and determination of a true champion.
@HAPPYskiller Because of course, we've never seen Sebastien Vettel pout like a spoilt child or cause a stupid accident. Vettel may be the best all-round package out there (after Fernando Alonso), but he isn't the most naturally gifted beihnd the wheel, in the same way that Prost - although awesome in his own right - didn't have Senna's God-given brilliance at the wheel, the take-your-breath-away-stuff that only a handful of drivers have ever done. Hamilton has that, but for me Vettel doesn't.
@azapro911 To say that Vettel is not a naturally talented driver, and to say hamilton has, is like saying god is bad and the devil is good (Just an example, religion is bollox) hamilton is not a very good driver and doesn't get anyone on the edge of their seats besides when he causes an accident or starts to moan, "Don't talk to me when im racing" = exact quote from hamilton during a race, not very naturally talented, he's a racer who can't multitask.
@HAPPYskiller That's because when the team are talking to him it's when he's in the braking zone or in the middle of a corner. Alonso also told the team to stop at Melbourne 2010...
@HAPPYskiller I agree that the 2009-11 Hamilton can't multitask or raise hairs, but the 1998-08 Hamilton COULD. Vettel IS a brilliant driver, no question. But there are certain things that only a handful of drivers - Senna, G. Villeneuve, previously Hamilton - could do at the wheel which simply mesmerized. They just had a certain feel for where the grip and - usually - the limit were, particularly in the wet.
@azapro911 You're not seriously comparing karting to Formula 1? That's like comparing Rap to Techno or anything else, they are completely Different, You can NOT put hamilton into the same catagory as Senna Either, that's just like calling hamilton awesome, which he is not. Schumacher would best fit into that catagory, then Vettel following very closely behind with hamilton breathing on the window. Button has a better feel in the wet than hamilton and anyone else in f1 by a long way.
@HAPPYskiller I've watched Lewis Hamilton since he was 8 years old. I've seen him force every type of car dance around the World's best circuits in ways that no other Brit could dream of for 13 years, not just since 2007 when everyone else hopped on the bandwagon. Yes, frankly, he DOES have a certain measure - no, not ALL - of Senna's ability at the wheel. And I did say that he wasn't nearly consistent enough these days to make it count. Karting and Formula 1?? Where did you get that bit from??
@azapro911 Lol you've watched him since he was 8, ambitious asa young one, but he is aweful at F1, he is clumsy and does cause many mistakes not thinking before he does an action which will have him repremanded with drive throughs and such. no1 gives a shit if you watched him since karting, this is f1 and he sucks ass. You were comparing karting to formula 1..thats where from
@HAPPYskiller Yes, the guy with 1 World Championship (which could have been 3), 17 wins, 42 podiums, 19 poles, 11 fastest laps and 723 points in 5 years really must be awful at Formula 1. At no point did I compare karting to F1. And I certainly don't give a shit about fair-weather fans who ignore drivers until they get to F1 and then hop on the bandwagon once they win a race. What would you have said about Ayrton Senna back in 1983 then? "Oh, he hasn't been in F1 yet, so he must be shit." :-/
@azapro911 3? lmao...saying that vettel could have also had 3 then, in 2009 he was shy of P1. And i never said it was aweful ,he's been there 5 years..vettel has done almost half of the points in 1 season..and yeah you actually did. I've been watching Vettel and supporting him from him being in torro rosso in 07-08, When did i say that being in karting is uncomparable? they have their chance just like every f1 chance who can either win or lose..Now im done talking to you, learn some.
@HAPPYskiller I can't learn something if I've been taught nothing. Oh and "You're not seriously comparing karting to Formula 1?", that's where. Now I too am done.
ohhh lol why dont you show that whole interview you twats
if you watch the whole interview, you will see why he said it, instead of just editing out what you want people to see and serve you own needs sooo fuking sad bro

@ScuderiaF3rrari Hahah dont say 'spring' to Massa, the moron might go into another coma. Little baby should retire, hes clearly lost the entire plot. Disgrace to great names like Senna.
@Invincible278 massa nearly died so get a life. Massa is 1 of the est drivers ever to drive for the scuderia he is just having a bad season, he was leading the cha, pionship last year for a fe races and 2008 he was fighting with that black guy!!! FORZA MASSA FORZA SCUDERIA FERRARI MALBORO!!! \O/ (MASSA WINNING)
lol this guy might stick on comedy after quitting F1 wich i honestly hope he do before disgracing the fair play one more season. fucking son of a bitch you make non racist people call you fucking twat nigger
I think you should perhaps buy a dictionary and have a good look at the word cocky. A ten second clip in which he states what he believes to be a fact. Get a life man.
@MagicAyrtonforever I can't agree more LOL! Just disappointing, the kind of luck Jenson is having in comparison with him, Lewis deserved the win today at Japan, but the puncture scuppered everything, and yet again, Massa came into play!
how's he cocky? it might be because some people are simple minded jealous fucked up wankers like yourself so you have to come out with that shit.

lol you all say he's cocky but I bet NONE of you could drive an f1 car as well as he can, especially in 2008.

@TittyTittyBangBangXX Button is not cocky like Lewis yes, but not brilliant like Lewis. This indeed was super cocky by Hamilton. McLaren should replace him with someone else.

@TittyTittyBangBangXX
How can Button be better ?
When drove the flying Brawn GP BGP 001 in 2009
He managed to win only 4 poles and 6 victories
KeepYourHandup972 3 months ago
@KeepYourHandup972 Hamilton gets involved in more racing incidents than Button, He's a little too aggressive sometimes. Button is in 2nd place this year with 1 race to go.
TittyTittyBangBangXX 3 months ago
@KeepYourHandup972
If Button beats Hamilton in his worse season so far it's doesn't mean he is better .
Jenson is a 12 years experienced driver Lewis is only 5
KeepYourHandup972 3 months ago
@TittyTittyBangBangXX Wrong... Button will never "Outperform" Lewis, thats why its 13 - 6 qualifying to lewis. the only time button "beats" lewis is when lewis has a problem. case closed, Hamilton is a million times better than button the wannabe, Go ask alonso who hell be watching in the winter... because its sure as hell not button or vettel the taxi drivers.
x420Raptor1 3 months ago
@x420Raptor1 Wait a second, who was 2nd in points this year? Oh that's right It was Jenson Button.....Hamilton drives like he sleeps with men.

The best in the World ON PAPER, but right now not in practice in my view.
azapro911 4 months ago 16
@azapro911 Naa he is not, he causes accidents, silly mistakes and also has an attitude when things don't go his way (like a child) including that he does have a baby face. Vettel is the most gifted driver out there, and even from karting, he has the persistancy, mind set and determination of a true champion.
HAPPYskiller 3 months ago
@HAPPYskiller Because of course, we've never seen Sebastien Vettel pout like a spoilt child or cause a stupid accident. Vettel may be the best all-round package out there (after Fernando Alonso), but he isn't the most naturally gifted beihnd the wheel, in the same way that Prost - although awesome in his own right - didn't have Senna's God-given brilliance at the wheel, the take-your-breath-away-stuff that only a handful of drivers have ever done. Hamilton has that, but for me Vettel doesn't.
azapro911 3 months ago
@azapro911 To say that Vettel is not a naturally talented driver, and to say hamilton has, is like saying god is bad and the devil is good (Just an example, religion is bollox) hamilton is not a very good driver and doesn't get anyone on the edge of their seats besides when he causes an accident or starts to moan, "Don't talk to me when im racing" = exact quote from hamilton during a race, not very naturally talented, he's a racer who can't multitask.
HAPPYskiller 3 months ago
@HAPPYskiller That's because when the team are talking to him it's when he's in the braking zone or in the middle of a corner. Alonso also told the team to stop at Melbourne 2010...
VeyronGlen 3 months ago
@VeyronGlen Check out the clips on here, and also when he was on the pit straight in turkey he told them to stop distracting him..
HAPPYskiller 3 months ago
@HAPPYskiller I agree that the 2009-11 Hamilton can't multitask or raise hairs, but the 1998-08 Hamilton COULD. Vettel IS a brilliant driver, no question. But there are certain things that only a handful of drivers - Senna, G. Villeneuve, previously Hamilton - could do at the wheel which simply mesmerized. They just had a certain feel for where the grip and - usually - the limit were, particularly in the wet.
azapro911 3 months ago
@azapro911 You're not seriously comparing karting to Formula 1? That's like comparing Rap to Techno or anything else, they are completely Different, You can NOT put hamilton into the same catagory as Senna Either, that's just like calling hamilton awesome, which he is not. Schumacher would best fit into that catagory, then Vettel following very closely behind with hamilton breathing on the window. Button has a better feel in the wet than hamilton and anyone else in f1 by a long way.
HAPPYskiller 3 months ago
@HAPPYskiller I've watched Lewis Hamilton since he was 8 years old. I've seen him force every type of car dance around the World's best circuits in ways that no other Brit could dream of for 13 years, not just since 2007 when everyone else hopped on the bandwagon. Yes, frankly, he DOES have a certain measure - no, not ALL - of Senna's ability at the wheel. And I did say that he wasn't nearly consistent enough these days to make it count. Karting and Formula 1?? Where did you get that bit from??
azapro911 3 months ago
@azapro911 Lol you've watched him since he was 8, ambitious asa young one, but he is aweful at F1, he is clumsy and does cause many mistakes not thinking before he does an action which will have him repremanded with drive throughs and such. no1 gives a shit if you watched him since karting, this is f1 and he sucks ass. You were comparing karting to formula 1..thats where from
HAPPYskiller 3 months ago
@HAPPYskiller Yes, the guy with 1 World Championship (which could have been 3), 17 wins, 42 podiums, 19 poles, 11 fastest laps and 723 points in 5 years really must be awful at Formula 1. At no point did I compare karting to F1. And I certainly don't give a shit about fair-weather fans who ignore drivers until they get to F1 and then hop on the bandwagon once they win a race. What would you have said about Ayrton Senna back in 1983 then? "Oh, he hasn't been in F1 yet, so he must be shit." :-/
azapro911 3 months ago
@azapro911 3? lmao...saying that vettel could have also had 3 then, in 2009 he was shy of P1. And i never said it was aweful ,he's been there 5 years..vettel has done almost half of the points in 1 season..and yeah you actually did. I've been watching Vettel and supporting him from him being in torro rosso in 07-08, When did i say that being in karting is uncomparable? they have their chance just like every f1 chance who can either win or lose..Now im done talking to you, learn some.
HAPPYskiller 3 months ago
@HAPPYskiller I can't learn something if I've been taught nothing. Oh and "You're not seriously comparing karting to Formula 1?", that's where. Now I too am done.
