How did you get your dog to swim that was such a nerve racker for me whenever i was in the pool and he'd be on the deck. i thought they were too top heavy and too short of legs
bulldogs arnt renowned for their swimming abilities legs are to stumpy for there bulky bodys and lack of any stamina whats so ever lol my auntie pam had one it was about 13 stone farted all the time real loud and snored it was an all round slob after walking about 200 meters he wud lie down and refuse to move ! and when he was eating his food he wud think the chair was after his food he wud growl the full time he was eating and stop sometimes and go an attack the chair,not the smartest dogs
omg! so does this mean that all the talk ppl have been saying about how like bulldogs can swim isnt true? or can they only swim for short periods of time?
i have a pool on my giant patio and i have three dogs and they hate to get bathes so i put all there fave toys in the pool and there like god dammit and they have no choice but go get them and there clean and then they ignore me for 10 min then i dry them off and then they like me again

@prestellad most dogs wont drown because they are naturally good swimmers, but obviously if they have leg problems or somethin then they wouldnt be able to swim
@prestellad the thing about bulldogs is that most sink like rocks but they love water so the best thing to do for safety reasons is to buy ur bulldog a life vest and make sure he keeps his head above water. but she's right having a bulldog in water with out him already knowing how to swim is very dangerous.
@skyrider1792 its dog instinct 2 swim naturally fool, more ppl drown by jumping in water after dogs than dogs actually drown!!! "with out him already knowing how to swim is very dangerous" wot do u think they have to have lessons b4 they can take on swimming!

It's hard for Bullies to swim and not all bullies can Dbag. so no I'm not saying they need lessons I'm saying let them swim in shallow water first to see if your particular Bulldog first likes water and can swim. Do you have a Bully because I have 3 idiot and 1 can swim and 2 need life vests. Bulldogs are not built for water and if water get in their nose they have a very hard time getting over it. They drown easily. Don't waste my time
@skyrider1792 Bit of an aggressive reply how can u call me a jerk when u call me a dirtbag without knowing me and yes i do have a variety an english bull, british bull and an american bull (which is the johnson flat faced type) and all are good swimmers, with all my heart i am sorry if i offended u :D lol, but iv always beent told that dogs have the ability to swim naturally and thought the ppl hu put vests on them were jus crazy n paranoid. @skyrider1792 My neighbour had a Bulldog, took good care of him HOWEVER her niece took the dog to her cottage, took a boat ride BOTH without life jackets, the dog fell overboard, niether could swim, sadly you know how it ended. Her owner should have taken her to water FIRST to see if she could swim BEFORE letting her dog go to a cottage by a lake. I owned a Bully breed (not bulldog) she loved the water but sank like a stone, they cannot ALL instinctively swim, we had to wade in and save her
I was always led to believe that Bulldogs can't swim because their heads are too heavy but this video seems to prove that old wives tail wrong. Good boy Brodie!
@greywolf1755 Most bulldogs are sinkers but Brodie, being taller and longer than the standard, could swim on his own. A standard size bulldog, with short legs, will usually sink. My other bully wears a life vest in the water

my friend had a bulldog that jumped into a pool and just sank to the bottom, he couldn't swim at all....of course they pulled it out.

if you teach your bulldog at puppy stage and they walk into a pool, they can swim. If you drop your bullies in to 3 feet of water he will sink...
