regarding the gentleman's question. You will be better off paying your mortgage in whichever currency you took it out in. Read your contract and make sure that the amount you owe is in U.S., or CDN $. If the currency no longer exsist by that point, find it in the garbage bin, and bring it to the bank. Tell them straight out that you are paying your mortgage. After all you signed your mortgage in U.S.$, not in the new currency. If they don't take it, take them to court.
