I don't want to be offensive. She is an excellent entertainer. I would rate her with JLO, Janet Jackson, Ciara, and etc. Whenever you hear a singer with a lot of echos and or backgrounds in the "lead" of the song, they are making compensations. On DangerouslyIL, she did a bit of solo @ 2:21.

The attitude in the voice equates to "talking" in the world of real music. The mix here at Leno is fukkin DREADFUL!!!!The guitars are WAY too loud,and it's putting her off...she seems to be fighting to stay in key!!Man...i bet she was FUMING after this!!Still,she manages to pull it off...but only after a fight...a NEEDLESS fight too!!!!

It is sooo unfair that she is underrated. I mean they fuckin gave rihanna cant sing ass a record deal and she is fameous??? Man please L.A Reid give her a new record deal cuz i want her to come back. She really is one of the few black women from the 90's who can sing circles around today's R&B singers. Tamia, MJB, Faith evans, Damn they were the real faces of R&B

Okay, due to the combination of her voice and overall looks, this could be the finest woman on earth. Man, what a lucky guy to be with her. Please don't mention Beyonce (talent wise) or any of these other model looking singers of today, they don't compare. Tamia is one of the few modern singers that has great tone and phrasing. This is why Quincy Jones used her on his album she's an exception.

@TheMrMarilyn tamia's sexy but she's not trashy like many of today's artists are, that's one reason. Secondly, Tamia's on her own label now, and that makes it hard when she's competing with artists from major labels to get her music out there. You need money for that...LOTS of it. I've always loved her too but I'm just glad she's still making music....GREAT music not that commercialized stuff everyone's doing.

No I mean because Tamia isnt half naked in her videos, shaking her goodies, she doesnt sell as much as beyonce them. Nowadays thats what its about, people dont know what tru talent it and that girl can sang! I heard her one morning on the steve harvey radio show, it was flawless. You can even look it up. Ya shes underrated. Aaliyah was to but she was finally getting successful before she died. Notice the women that dont exposed their body parts are underrated, Its a damn shame.

@sdseals2076 A couple of years ago, Tamia alongside Deborah Cox and Kelly Price were collectively putting together a new 'supergroup" album called "The Queen Project", but 'because of other commitments' the project was put on hold.
Tamia is reportedly part way through recording her own new album...fingers crossed we wont have to wait much longer: it's way overdue :)

Beyonce..smooth it out! Leona Lewis voice was great..but now she tryna sound to breathy...just sing girl! Jasmine is great too..but shes gets annoying when uses her chest. Alicia keys was nice & smooth...but now shes just screaming at us.."New Yaorrrkkkkk!" lol. Mariah sounds like shes 3000 pounds and is out of breath. Whitney just lost it! And I dont even consider.. Keysha, Monica, Keri, Ciara, Rihanna singers. Esp. Keri...us a mess!

I agree with you Solidboi87..Im 19 and I definitly grew up with both B and Tamia when I was a kid. I loveeeee Beyonce becuz she just has the star quality..but I do wish she would make songs what were more like this. Tamia's tone is bright and open but B has a rich/full/ growl tones. She is a great singer of lower notes..but real singers can hear that she stops her notes short, do runs to stay in tune and thats how she gonna sing.

I agree. Tamia had me at "You put a move on my heart" back in '95. Just take one listen to that and you know how a true singer should sound. She put the rest to shame. Loved that sexy video too. And to think she was only 19 at the time. Pretty much the reason I got the Q's Jook Joint CD back then.

@solidboi87 I agree with you but i also think all the great entertainers...well, the great entertainer-Michael Jackson had an amazing voice but he still put on a show. Theatrics were part and parcel of what made him go beyond a great singer to world class performer all round. I think Bey is no where near michael but she will still be talked abt in 20 years bcuz she has the voice and can perform all round. She could probably sing this song and make it amazing.Love Tamia still though.

As a guy. I had this type of woman living with me and she expressed the same concerns as Tamia so eloquently articulates in this song. I over looked her, but felt the magnitude of this message when I finally start paying attention to the next woman. Namely when Tamia said, "pop quiz tell me where me spot is....." The love was powerful son.
