im 12 years old living in australia and im starting high school (education system runs alot differently in australia) and i decided to make a folder full of memories from my past, put it onto an SD card and then lock it away somewhere safe in my room where no one will find it or shift it and ill know where it is. pretty good idea isnt it?
I found a tool named as Secure Privacy (lovegreensun) which can generate a self-extract encrypted files all in one and can be viewed/exported in any other Windows machines. Very nice tool
wheneder i "send to compressed (zipped) folder", i get an arcive thing with the same name as the origenal file. when i open it it says, at the top; "(file name).zip - WinRAR
This is really irritating. People keep saying this works for folders. No it doesn't so stop saying it. I just tried it, all it did was compress the folder. There is no add a password under file or anywhere else and yes I use XP.
pretty sure it doesnt work on windows 7

I have all options... but it's "set def. password" and then i can still open the file normally!
stonhenge4 1 year ago
I don't have that option
can you help ?
bevon17 1 year ago
This can't protect your files from hackers. Your average hacker can bust a password like this in thirty seconds.
Good for hiding things from the family and/or friends; useless in all other cases.
TeamVolturi 1 year ago
@TeamVolturi This program actually uses a 256bit key.. to brute force hack this type of key would take 3×10(51) years...
even a 64bit encyption takes an hour and a half on a Pentium Dual-Core @ 1.7GHz.
if you wanted to crack a 256bit key.. your only option would be to guess with a raw password libary..
cowpatty is a good one.
you're talking out your arse mate!
