This really explains how a kid can grow up into a teenager and become an emo(emotional person). I want to hear what happens as they go further in life and when they eventually change. I have grow great patience bcuz of my ex, who was a emo. She is not well still.. This video reminds me of her. The fears. Anger in the houshold.. Things which he talked about was exactly what I needed ot hear.
You grow up and you are still an emo, keeping the thought in mind that everyone is bad and has a negative attitude toward you. And then you shield yourself and avoid others, preoccupying yourself with something. If your parents have had a negative attitude toward you, and toward one another, thus they are setting a nice example which you "strive" unconsciously to follow. Bullying also contributes a lot. And if you do not end committing a suicide then you are a really strong person.
What about discipline or is that not necessary? Telling a child "No, not now", " don't eat that", Wait until later", "Put on your coat". How would you suggest one convey the message of stucture and guidance, not control? Do children have a choice in everything? It it all up for discussion with the child?
I read the book, "Healing the Inner Child" and it has been monumental for me. I feel light years ahead of where I've been all of my life(age 45 now). I still need a lot of work. I am not able to live in a healthy relationship just yet. I still need a lot of affirmations and support.
I'm glad to see this kind of information on utube. Alice Miller had written a lot about childhood. What happens when a person who has been cut off from their own true feelings has children of their own? Unspeakable damage...
