  • 1:26 Wow, George Lucas actually had himself in mind to play Luke Skywalker...

  • I bought the hardcover version of the book when it came out and when I finally had time to read it some years afterwards I enjoyed it tremendously.

I heartily recommend it to anyone interested in Star Wars!

  • It is quite a revelation to see/hear in detail how some go about creating, mutating, percollating, sublimating, anticipating, debating and undebating, progressing, caressing, un and unlessing a work of art into symbolic fictional fact as an act of observational realizational intellect one can sometimes understand, often barely recollect it is quite a revelation.

  • lucas was awesome for a while then... =D

willow, Christmas special,Howard the duck, jar jar the prequels =D lol

    makes you wonder

  • Sorry, but what´s supposed to be so great about Star Wars? Nowadays, I find it quite boring and silly (for example that the heroes never get hit and that Luke has a conveniant hook at his belt.)

  • @VitoPossilipo - It's called having fun and pure escapism!

  • @TRUMPER007 But there can also be clever fun and escapism.

  • @VitoPossilipo - True! I'll give you that one.

  • @VitoPossilipo What's supposed to be so great about Star Wars? Seriously? Unforgettable characters, one of the best soundtracks ever made, great visual design (and some effects are still awesome today), stunning sound design from genius Ben Burtt... ligthsabers, X-wings, THE FORCE... so many things... and all from a movie from 1977!

  • haha... "Dick Starkiller"

  • not even a die hard fan like some out there but this looks interesting to say the least

  • Wow this is great. I have never seen this , Terriffic upload. 5 stars.

  • This book is one of the most enjoyable book ever made. The only thing is,there is no mention of the great Ray Harryhausen, which is one of George Lucas, inspiration in making such movies as this, despite of that it is still a great book by J. W. RINZLER.

  • You're wrong Mr. Rinzler. Lucas decided to tell the story via the two 'lowest' characters after seeing Japanese films like Hidden Fortress, and The Seven Samurai.

Motion controlled cameras where nothing new in the '70s. NASA used them to train astronauts in flight simulators.

  • Really want this book.

  • Interesting upload, much thanks.

  • Nice:)

  • I have this book. To say it's exhaustive doesn't actually do it jutice even. I have never seen so much in a book about Star Wars. It's expensive but easily worth the money!

  • I'd like to listen to the interviews if they were recorded interviews. Are you gong to make an audio version of this book?

  • The publisher, Del Rey, does not have an audio version of this book, mainly because it is so picture-heavy. It would be very hard to capture all the information in audio format only. This is a coffee table book which is chock full of never before seen behind the scenes images, artwork, concept drawings, costume designs and more. It really is one you need to look at as well as read the text.

  • @ExpandedBooks Suince you are an SW fan and your vid is great I will subscribe and would like to ad you, but about the budget thing, fox dfid fund him a lot, hee just invested his own money cause the project was soo ambitiouas, and the motion control was his oidea, but aside from that great vid, subbed!!!!

  • @ExpandedBooks Actually... All that was said here has been shown in other documentaries, behind the scenes, and so on. There was nothing new to this sneakpreview then what I've seen before. Except Luke's first name.
