You're still talking about IN-GAME cinematics? Cause before the Wrath Gate, there was no official in-game machinimas. They didn't have the possibility to make things like that in time for the release of the Black Temple. They said that several times. Now, if you don't want to believe what they say, that's your problem.

@goblinounours well, lets be honest here. What's the real difference between "in game" cinematics and the ones they release as trailers and previews for each game and patch? Nothing really, except they're placed in the game instead of before it. They've been releasing cinematics since like 1995, and each one, for its day, was awesome. They very well could have(should have) had a cinematic for Illidan, but they didnt.

All i'm sayin, is they could have.
