  • Bah I'm just here for the music within a sad moment

  • I'm sure this has been said before, but both series are great for different reasons. Which one you prefer is more attuned to your personal tastes, but both are well made regardless.

  • @jasmineelmiari I like the music in the first series cause it feels more diverse than in the second series. mainly the fact that the second series music has like 3 different versions of one song on multiple occasions, and their music is based on two emotions, suspense and uneasiness (for the most part).

  • Didn't know that motherfckn shenron would be here!!!

  • I actually feel sorry for Envy. The only reason that he was so bitter was because of how Hohenheim rejected and abandoned him after his creation. It's really quite said, to be honest. He was really well made.

  • Please, can somone explain this to me? Ed's last transmutation was to give Al his life back and Ed sacrefised his own life for that. He then ended up in London on the other side of the gate. But why did he loose his arm and leg again? Didn't he give his whole body?

  • 1:35 sadest part in the entire series :'(

  • @EdwardxElric28 correction: 1:34

  • FMA brotherhood is better than this>>>

  • So much more epic in Japanese :3

  • Brotherhood had better fight scenes and more characters. SO WHAT? Ninjas, panda bears and evil godly villains are all cliche and overused in anime. The original FMA had uniqueness, beauty and depth that no anime can compare to.

  • @666Polo777 Thank you, violence/action should be the result of something happening in the plot. If all you want is an RPG, then watch Dragon Ball, Naruto, or Bleach. Where the main character levels up, learns a new ability, and tackles another boss. I do enjoy Dragon Ball for being dumb fun, but that's just it, it's not legitimate excitement or progress. The original Full Metal Alchemist is a work of art.

  • @666Polo777 You're right! I do love both FMA series but the fact that Brotherhood has a ninja panda kinda ruined it for me. Don't get me wrong, Shao Mei is cute but this and some other factors in Brotherhood made it like so many other anime that I watch(and love). But FMA takes a humanize route, not that we can perform alchemy because we are on the other side of the gate, but it portrays how we humans do things. There are no happy endings and, even then, the end won't go the way you want it to.

  • @alex29464 LMAO! XD You are so rite! hahahahahahaha

  • whats the name of the piano music playing in the background?

  • @alleykraves wakare no kyoku, 別れの曲. It means farewell song, something like that.

  • @alleykraves That's what FMA calls it. It is actually an Etude by Chopin, op. 10 no. 3. Beautiful song IMO.

  • @xGPK1987x, WHARE?

  • shen long?

  • A WILD RAYQUAZA HAS APPEARED!

  • I like Brotherhood way better.. for many many reasons. But I guess thats just my opinon.

  • To answer anyone who's curious to know what the music is, it's Chopin's "Tristesse"

  • "You're taking me to see Hohenheim; to that bastard; to my father"

  • 2003 Wrath was probably the only fail of the 2003 series. Other than that, the 2003 series was way better.

  • i just prefer brotherhood over the original becuz it had a WAY better ending not like the original where the series ends at the ending of the movie and ed and al are stuck in our world

  • @nwms905g

Brotherhood is a good ending, however, diving into the 2003 FMA it has a lot more personal depth for me. The characters, even the sins, have a lot more emotion invested in them, being the offspring of human transmutation. A lot is lost on the way. It feels very dark, too, which I preferred. Both amazing series, and Conqueror of Shamballa is a pretty good movie, too.

  • Ehhhhhhh.

I still like Brotherhood better. The ending actually makes sense.

  • I wish they made a season 2 were al has his body back. :) that would be cool. and Roy and Hawkie would be together as a couple.

  • I love/hate this scene :(

  • You don't get scenes like this in Brotherhood.

  • Thumbs up if you want there to be a sequel.. (besides brotherhood).. Do it for ed and AL to be reunited

  • @iownz1231 Brotherhood confuses the hell out of me

  • envy was the first to be created, and ironically the last to die

  • It's physically impossible for me to not cry when I see the last episode of FMA.

It's just too sad. The whole time I just wanted them to get their bodies back..

Every time I even think about this episode I cry.

  • I really liked the first FMA season, but this ending is way too sad ;__;

    I prefer Brotherhood

  • @xToriElle I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ummmmm is 1:18 the dragon from dargon ball Z?

  • aparecio sheng long

  • HOLLY SHIT!!! I knew Envy could transform into anyone but I didn't know he could transform into a ... Pokemon!!! That was Rayquaza, damn it!

  • @alex29464 This is not a pokémon It's the Eternal Dragon ( Shenron ) from DBZ

  • @alex29464 Dude, that no pokemon thats some crazy Dragon ball Z shit.

  • @alex29464

    Envy used transform

    Envy transformed into Rayquaza

    Rayquaza Fled

  • @alex29464 i thought it was shenron :|

  • @alex29464 LOL you're so (not) funny and original.

  • The song is an old Chopin piece. Tristesse, I think it's called.

  • first time i saw this i thought envy turned into shenron :0

  • this is the las ep from fma right?

  • @bawan44 Episode 50

  • @bawan44 Wait 51 :P

  • What was the song that was playing during this scene?

  • chanson de l'aideau is playing in the background! lol. anyways.......IHATEENVY.

  • shenron!

  • 1:17 OMGFWTFBBQ. Envy is HOT as a human!

  • 1:33 was Ed crying out of pity for envy?

  • @yezelsqueeze I dont think so. I think a feeling of separation from Alphonse.

  • @yezelsqueeze He was crying for Al. He didn't know yet, but he could sense something was wrong.

  • @yezelsqueeze I think he was crying out of sadness at the whole situation.

  • Damn background music! It's making me cry because of the fact I was reminded of a cat of mine that died not long ago.

  • TAKE ME TO HOHENHEIM TO THAT BASTARD TO MY FATHER!

  • this is making me cry.;;

  • Do homunculi sleep? ...

I havnt read the manga, but they dont seem to fatigue in the anime - does anyone know?

  • @jonescalypso In this version, they don't. Their completely immortal.

  • @Apparoid ah. ok. Thank you :)

  • The evil antagonist from this series is rather weak compared to Father on Brotherhood.

  • @jdoggdabeast Dante was stronger than you think, all she needed was a baby, and she'll send you inside the gate to linger there for ever. Though Ed and Hohenheim survived only because they were able to keep their mind, body and soul together, and they successfully crossed the gate. Envy too, but sense he's a homunculus, he turned into a giant serpent. The homunculus tattoo(ouroburos) is a serpent biting it's tail. The rest of the homunculus would turn into a giant snake as well.

  • @Dattebayo04 No they wouldn't. Envy changed because thats what his power is, and when he crossed over, he lost his power. If Greed, for example, tried crossing over, he would solidify himself with the ultimate shield and be stuck in that form.

    The Ouroboros symbol.

  • @Apparoid No, Envy didn't choose to turn into the giant serpent. It's because it represents their true nature. The Ouroburos is a snake biting's its tail. It says it in that FMA movie booklet you get when you buy the dvd.

The booklet explains the things that wasn't explained in the movie. Remember the second episode of FMA when Cornello had a dream about the red snake that would have been Lust if she cross?

  • @Dattebayo04 And then in Conquerer of Shamballa, they made him bit his own tail XD

  • @ipods36 Yup.

  • Comment removed

  • @Apparoid yeah but at least Father had more ambition than dante did

  • envy's voice is awesome in both sub and dub and both animes ♥ and so is ed, but i dont like him cuz hes too short

  • makes me nostalgic

  • I can play this song in the background on the piano!

  • The original FMA may just be the one anime that manages to be better than the manga. :/

  • @Lulzman69 100% agree~!

I love the original FMA. It's my favorite.

  • @Lulzman69 200% agree~!

  • @Lulzman69 Amen

  • @Lulzman69 rofl nooooooo way there are just so many plot wholes especially abotu the homunculi and how they handled them

  • @darkdrag187 What do you mean?

Everything's explained perfectly and clearly, except, of course, since the original anime series diverged from the manga, they give it a different explanation.

  • @darkdrag187 FMA may have plot holes, but Brotherhood has as much, if not more, plot holes than this anime.

  • You're taking me to see Howenheim, to that BASTARD, TO MY FATHER-

always gives me chills w/ Tristesse in the background

  • AND JUST LIKE FRIEZA ENVY IS VOICED BY AN OLD LADY IN BOLTH SERIES

  • Holy sh*t its Shenron!

  • the music choice for this scene was absolutely perfect

  • I just love it when Envy calls Ed, "worm." I laugh every time XD

  • Brotherhood and the manga fail so hard compared to this.

  • @Loveyourhate814 b4 you start saying they fail. watch brotherhood first. its really great i like both of the anime FMA and FMA brotherhood, brotherhood is just a remake,if you make fun f the manga your basically making fun of thw whole FullMetal Alchemist series, i like all of them ^_^

  • saddest part ever ed died so sad so sad so sad so sad so sad so sad so sad so sad so sad sooooo sad

  • Envy in the original>>>>>Envy in Brotherhood

  • wow envys true form is like an Older Edward... thats gotta be awkward. I didn't want Envy to go into the gate :(

  • This is the favourite scene I've ever seen in FMA and FMA brotherhood...

Because Envy and Edward both shout out their feeling.

I love this kind of tragedy scene very much!

  • The original FMA is sooooooo fucking lame. Brotherhood FTW.

  • @Virginityrocks Brotherhood is like a Hollywood movie of anime. It has action, explosions, comic relief, some under developed romance, but it's still very fun.

The first anime isn't for everyone. I know some people may get bored with the drama and such and it does sell its self as an action anime when it's clearly more of a drama then action.

Comparing both is stupid, I used to compare both but they can't be anymore different from each other despite going under the same name.

  • @KingLes98 I grew up watching this version of FMA, and it was my favorite show as a kid,and still is. So naturally, i don't fancy the reboot Brotherhood too much. Though I have to admit, brotherhood seems to be exactly how I imagined the first FMA to be when I started watching it, with all of its Hollywood action, explosions, comic releif, e.t.c. The first anime had that too, but brotherhood leaned toward that, instead of leaning on a dark tone like the fma 2003 did.

  • whats the name of the music playing in the background i love it

  • @grievousorvenom its called wakare no kyoku, entrevide5 uploaded it, and its good.

  • @amine9876 Actually the real name of "wakare no kyoku" is Chopin Etude Op. 10 No. 3...It's a great melody.

  • english dub sucks...

  • @Tiberiu1Laticevschi

I would rather hear a mans's voice from ed than to hear a womans voice from him.

  • Envy was totally Bada--- in that scene

  • at 1:36, I feel as if though a bit of my heart and soul were torn into shreds.....I feel for you Edward!! T-T

  • @greenenvy17 Wasn't that the most heart-wrenching line Ed ever says?! And it was only one word!

  • its the dragon ball z dragon

  • @dmanschaumbizzie 1:21 Your wish has been granted

  • Everytime I hear Envy shout "TO MY FAAATHER!!!" during this scene, I get some kind of "Oh shit" feeling, which sinks in what Envy TRULY is; a creation of Hoenheim.

  • HAHa thats wut envy gets! ;P

    XD

  • This part was pretty dramatic. But i still like brotherhood better. Thumbs up for brotherhood!!!!!!!

  • @pokemonmaster97 Brotherhood os great, but this FMA is the classics!

  • @Dattebayo04 Agreed

  • @Dattebayo04 brotherhood ( manga) was first lol

  • @foot0fete No, this anime came out years before Brotherhood. It was even years ahead of the manga. So this anime was first.

  • @Dattebayo04 how could this be ahead of manga? all cartoons are made before mangas lol... the first one is a fail made for kids that doesn't make sense...watch all brotherhood episodes see whats better ;)

  • @foot0fete No, Brotherhood seems more cartoonish, and the first FMA is more mature than Brotherhood. I don't like BH that much. And FMA was ahead of the manga because it was too slow. The manga came out monthly, and the anime came out weekly. The manga only had 24 chapters during FMA's time, so the creator told the producers to go on a different path to not spoil the manga's plotline. And the producers did a damn good job. I heard ppl say FMA is one of those animes that's better than the manga.

  • @Dattebayo04 You said Normal fma is more MATURE x| wtf? look at the end ....Envy is so childish ....Ed speaks like he died or something...and wut the hell envy transforms into a dragon? lol this is like a fmab version for kids xD

  • @foot0fete Normal FMA is darker. Envy transformed into a serpent really. The homunculus tattoo is a snake biting it's tail. So when he crossed the gate, it altered him into a serpent. No better than Envy being Barny the dinosaur in Brotherhood. And Ed actually did die. If you seen what had happen, Envy just shoved a blade trough Ed's heart. Envy's more badass than BH's Envy, not childish. LMAO, this FMA made for kids, and BH is so mature. I hope you're joking

  • @Dattebayo04 Bh makes more sense ....envy is more badass in bh ...in fma he is just there....in bh he was the one who started the war...and killed hughes...and things , what the hell does he in london? this is so mxed up lol... And in bh are more cool characters like pride and father or ling yao or may ...fma is to simple

You know what ? Just Watch Fma brotherhood and see for yoself...c wuts better!

  • @foot0fete FMA makes perfect sense to me.You just don't understand it. It's science fiction. I already seen Brotherhood, and don't like it that much. I actually like the complex originality that this FMA has. You'll understand if you pay attention. I can try to explain all that confuses you if you want. But FMA brotherhood is a bit generic.I liked this FMA for being different from all the other animes. This,DBZ,and Death Note are three of the most original animes I ever saw. Envy is a punk in BH

  • @foot0fete

Envy does almost nothing but get his ass kicked and get humiliated in Brotherhood... he's a bad-ass manipulator in the original who beats on everybody, and who you never even see use his regenerating powers because he never gets touched.

I like Envy fine in brotherhood, but he's not nearly as pivotal or powerful as he was in the original FMA.

  • @Aldrius, Envy dies like a dog in FMA 2003. I have my own reasoning that the Homonculi were a lot less "expendable" in 2003 but they were definitely more badass in Brotherhood. He's far more pivotal as a symbolic character in Brotherhood, compared to 2003 which overall just had a lighter, less action-oriented display of character development. On top of that, Envy HAS no character development in 2003. He stays as the same asshole Homoncculi all though out. And the...

  • @Momentum139

He doesn't really 'die like a dog'. But it doesn't really matter that much, the movie is idiotic... and it doesn't... really matter if the universe is weaker or stronger. I consider Envy a more bad-ass character than Superman no matter how much stronger a character Superman is.

Also there's a reason Mustang never gets his hands on Envy: Envy in 2003 would never have been stupid enough to put himself into a position to get caught by Mustang.

  • @Momentum139 No, Envy had great character development in the first series. Envy had hate and jealously for Ed and Al, sense Hohenheim abandoned him for them. I must say Envy was more badass in the first series than he was in brotherhood. Envy just wanted to fuck up shit unlike the other humuculus. In BH, he was deep down emo, and ill never understand why his true form is a one eyed lizard thing in that show. 2003 FMA is great for one but not limit to reason. It's originality!

  • @Aldrius ONLY reason 2003 Envy beats on everybody is because 2003 WRATH is a FREAKING PUSSY compared to Brotherhood Wrath, and Pride isn't the real Pride, other than that, Maes still dies and Mustang doesn't get his hands on Envy. We all have our reasons I'm sure, but I reason that Envy was FAR more powerful individually in Brotherhood. He's more powerful in 2003 because his universe itself is physically weaker, thus making him look more impressive.

  • @foot0fete get your facts straight. in most cases the manga is made before the anime. and then if the anime doesn't follow the manga's plot, that most likely means it had to meet with the schedule of 1 week while the manga had 1 month. and no, they're both very mature. hohenhiem's death in brotherhood was a lot more sad because they touched into his past a little more. not to mention envy's death. the only reason it seems cartoonish is because you don't understand the depth of it's meaning.

  • @TheSurfaceofTheMoon, I could argue which is better or worse with you but it really wouldn't change anything, we both like different versions and I still haven't watched the last 10 eps of Brotherhood. I reviewed 2003 again (since I hadn't watched it since its original AS run) and I will confess it focuses deeper on story-telling and character development, but it loses the action and personality that FMA had - but the story was altered intentionally and that's a good thing to me.

  • @Momentum139 i could disagree at the character development thing. Hohenhiem was waaaay more noble in Brotherhood. it's hard for me to say why i like brotherhood better because of spoilers, but i will admit i do like the character development in the first series-up to a certain episode. it pissed me off Tucker didn't die, for one thing.

  • @TheSurfaceofTheMoon I have to admit. Brotherhood does seems cartoonish, I guess because I don't take it that seriously and the designs for the show is so soft compared to the original. Or maybe because i'm starting to out grow anime or cartoons period. There are alot of things I complain about Brotherhood, but I guess it's because i've grown so much to the original. You see the 2003 FMA screwed me up,lol.

  • @Dattebayo04 the only true way to grow out of something is to get bored with it. since animation is so popular, you might find something that you like. then again, you can always return to something and find some way to enjoy it, if you're willing enough.

  • @TheSurfaceofTheMoon Yeah, well I can still enjoy shows I use to love before like the old FMA, case closed or pokemon, and old movies like the lion king. But not too much into this new stuff. Life is no longer simple as you grow older,

  • OMG I cried when I saw this episode.

  • @GreaserGirl45 you're not alone ):

  • later on in the movie the nazis use envys new form to make the ouroboros

  • wtf....he turned into the neverending snake D:?

  • @TheAnimefan112

Yes. Ourobouros. The same snake which devours its tail and which, in alchemy, stands for infinity or wholeness.

  • So Envy has a problem with Ed's dad?Damn I can't figure it out.

  • @megapikachu9 If you watched the anime, when Envy kills Ed he says he wants to find Hoenhiem because he abandoned Envy as a child. Envy was created when Hoenhiems otherwifes' child died during birth, and he tried to resurrect him. Envy was the result - but Hoenhiem abandoned them.

  • @BoydTheMilkmanX Thanks and do you know where I can get some good pics of the gate

  • Envy has problems.

  • ...I hope they dubb FMAB soon with the same voices from FMA1st...coz Ed and Envy's voice are super smexy...xD

  • Why are there aborted fetuses attacking Envy??? O_o

  • Al died!!! He was one of my favorite characters!!! But he was bringing Ed back to life... T_T

  • @ILoveHamHams Actually, Ed just brings Al back. Al lives on, but has no memory and Ed goes through the gate.

  • I always have to watch the episode to find this one bit. I do this every few months and now theres just a video of that one scene. Thanks so much!

  • Étude Op. 10, No. 3

    by Frédéric Chopin

  • The piano for this scene makes it all sound so unreal, and somewhat sad

  • I always get goosebumps after Ed says, "...Al?"

  • What happens next? Did Al die?

  • @ianh97 no ed brings al bac...sumhow >_>

  • @KikiLuvsTigers the movie makes you want the creators to make MOAR FREAKING EPISODES >:( WAHT HAPPENDS NEXT!!!!!!!??????

  • @blazerx900 LMAO XD

im already starting FMA:brotherhood soo... :D imma biiig nerd (^^) lolz

im watching it in Eng and in Eng sub :D lol

  • Best anime ever made Dx

The only anime that really makes you feel all the characters emotions completely Dx

  • terrible voices.

  • @RIFF0RAFF Really? I thought this was a pretty good dub for an anime. I thought they did really good in choosing the casting.

  • This made me cry T_T

  • Aw man... you made me cry again... :')

  • i cant find a good eng dub for this episode eanyware......... T^T

  • this was not in the manga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh btw does anyone know when chapter 106 will be released?

  • lol Envy turned into Shenron!

  • And what about Al now? Dead? o.o

  • @RiesenWuschel Human

  • @supermantahoo That's good. Just watched the end (of the ova). Arrrgghhh... there has to be a sequel.

  • I watched the "Ed's death" video and was so freaked out... and I watched this and am just like....phew. I wanted to see if it was true Ed died so I skipped ahead. Will not do that again.

  • Lol envy getting eaten by shadow babies

  • i <3 this song

  • It made me cry soooo much when Ed was crying...No matter what, the last two episodes will always in a way suffocate me through emotions...

I know FMA is fictional, but really. Times like this where two very close friends (or brothers for the moment) would give anything for each other to live.

This is why I love Fullmetal Alchemist. <3

  • agree...my friend dunno wht fma is all about
