Dear macklinnful, If you read the uploaders comments added 8 months ago in response to a previous comment, the female had complete free access to the cubbing box and was free to come and go as she pleased, she chose to give birth in there and was not confined to the box in any way. If you look at 2.11 onwards you can clearly see her sitting in the open entrance, the images were captured from tiny infra red CCTV cameras that were concealed in the 4 corners of the box.

In the wild female snow leopards find a secure and secluded place to have their cubs such as a small cave. In captivity we try to replicate this and allowed Enif to choose where she had her cubs. We provided a wooden nest box with a series of baffles in the entrance to give her the privacy that she needed. Enif was free to come and go as she pleased. She was obviously very happy with the arrangement because she has raised 3 very strong and healthy cubs
