  • Samthing happens on my sanyo crt. Usually its a result from a still bright image on the tv after a few minutes. Technically its burned into the tube. Usually screen savers are good for that kind off thing on computers but they don't have that kind of logic for tvs. This is the first I've seen it happen on an LCD screen. Intersting.

  • Wow, thats worse than mine. I have a 46 inch from '06 and it has some thin vertical banding, but mostly it's the two huge dark bars that go across my screen that bug the hell out of me.

Good thing Circuit City will be here in a couple of hours to look at it. Then determine I need a new Aquos.

  • My advice, buy all you TV's from Costco. They have the best return policy in the history of returns. Even though they have a 90 return policy notice, they will still replace your TV if you have a problem no questions asked. Even if you bought it for years and no receipt. All you need is your account #. Example, recently I brought back an 20" LCD bought 3 years ago. There's sound and no pic. They fully refunded me without even pluggin it in. My bro also brought his back. I LOVE COSTCO!

  • i have a samsung tv and from the first day i buy it my cat it's drop it down realy.and now it has something grey on the panel size beam

  • I have a 32in LG And don't have this problem yet..

I hear the Sony Bravia has clouds..

  • great video. i attempted to capture this and did not do as well. has service agent replace Logic Board and FRC unit, but that did NOT fix my LC52D82. I am waiting on a response from sharp.

  • ive got a sharp aquos....is it gunna fuck me over later in life?

  • Banding is a well documented problem with sharps new lcds, has nothing to do with the source, just the TV itself, look it up

  • is LC42D62U good

  • omg that would drive me insane. im between a sharp d92u and the samsung 5271... after this video, looks like a samsung for me.

  • sharp 92 doesn't have that problem it's onli 62 and up 92 is new model and they fixed that buy sharp

  • I got a LC-42D64U and i haven't seen any banding issues so far. What video or movie did you use for this video. I want to get it and see if i get the same thing.

  • Why is it that on my Aquos 42" LCD, playing a widescreen movie through my Sony DVD player, the image set to dot-by-dot, doesn't fill the entire screen? There are still the 2.5" black bars along the top and bottom! Help!

  • Because your tv cant display any aspect ratio other than 1.78:1 in widescreen(no bar). If the aspect ratio is 1.85 it will have 1/2 inch bars on top bottom. 2.35 or wide will have the 2.5 inch or larger black bars on top and bottom in order to display the inputed cinimatic format.

  • Get a LC65GD1E, I got one

  • That sounds like a very good plan. I want to see the D92U but i advised that I would wait until June in the hopes that they work out any kinks and save a ringer for me. I got my TV in mid January.

  • i have heard that the 92s have the same problem. Seems that Sharp is incapable of making a panel without banding and/or cloudy spots.

  • I'm gonna hold on to it for one more week then return it at Costco. I plan get a Sony XBR3 or Sharp D92U, but I need to wait and see if they fair better than their previous models.

  • I agree that the tv has incredible picture quality despite the uniformity issues. Are you planning to return your tv? You don't seem to believe i should hold on to mine.

  • The banding issue has been a problem across all Aquos branded TVs from sharp. Even the newer D92U models have the same problem. I fear if you buy a Aquos, you must accept that the TV will have some sort of branding/clouding imperfection.

  • question that doesn't mean that tv is broken or something it's just banding problem right it wong power of or picture fails broken or something thanx

  • The Sharp LC-60C52U is the same as LC-52D62U just re-branded for Costco resell. Overall it's a great TV with the best picture quality for the price range. It does not do upscaling so 480p TV looks poor compared to other comparable LCD units. However, every resolution above that looks great.

  • well done!! I have also documented this issue. Take a look at my video and let me know. I am currently waiting for a d92U. Thankfully Sharp is cooperating with me.
