@TheWhiteMage745 Yeah, some of the killing scenes are rather dreadful... But it's still a great series regardless.

I'd recommend watching Higurashi dubbed, so you can turn down the sound and cover most of the screen with your hand, but you can still see the subtitles so you know when the killing scene is over!

About this scene, the first few episodes were from Keichi's point of view and it turned out later on that he was having delusions. In reality, there WAS no needle and Rena and Mion were NOT out to kill him but rather be his friends. Even later on, it's revealed that Keichi was suffering from that disease that causes people to go insane and have severe delusions......

@girlgarde Well what about when Rena had the hatchet in her hand and was laughing? (I know that is his paranoia) How did he imagine that do you know what she as really trying to say to him? Also right here in this scene when they are asking about what he ate (level 4 right?) was it just a standard question like any friend would ask "Anyway Keiichi what did you have for lunch today?" and he hallucinated it to look like that.

@ReviewTechnoGames yea i think it was a regular question.since he suffered from hallucinations.i think they must have saw them.plus i think those were regular toned questions and that must had made him think there was a needle in there.

@bdboydster it was the hot sauce in the ohagi that made him think it. The hot sauce burned his tongue which made him think it was a needle. I figured it out because I remember when Keiichi ate alot of Ohagi Mion made and he tried to chug it all down it burned his tongue really bad and needed water immediately

Rena and Mion wasn't really trying to kill Keiichi, inside the one that had the ''needle'' it was really hot sauce but because Keiichi was paranoid he didnt realize that. Along with the shot, it was just a marker.
