first zelda game i ever beat was minish cap... i am actually playing links awakening right now

I haven't actually played Minish Cap yet. I was playing 4 swords adventure for the wii and the biggest turn off for me was that I had to backtrack for the side item when needed (boomerang, bow, etc.) because you could only carry one. I thought minish cap had the same premise so I didn't want to pick it up. I hear good things about Link's awakening though.
