HEY i get what he is saying about education. If the government didn't give out financial aid people would have less to spend on education. So they would have to compete for the little money that we do have right? therefore the cost wouldn't be as high. But they want to keep students in debt and borrowing from banks so i don't know if there is any turning back now because they would make us take out debt to pay for it. the greed is out of control and the quality of education SUCKS! look at UOP

I've heard Schiff say many of the same things about college education. just calculated that it cost a total of over $100 a class in college, 34 of which I paid for as an in-state student. Given that many classes had 100-300 students or more, this doesn't seem efficient, even after paying the professor a high salary along with salaries for TAs. The economies of scale should work to bring costs down much more.

I used to have insurance through my employer that was taken out pre-tax. The pricing, through the county, had reached $1000 per month. And this was for a healthy, not even middle aged, family of 4. We dropped the "mandatory" county insurance and supplied our own through Costco's insurance plans. We cut our health insurance bill by about 60% and fill out the required county paperwork every open-enrollment.

Our county provided health insurance premiums have gone through the roof. Wages go up about 2% per year, cost of living increase is like 3% each year and health insurance goes up around 9% each year. But we are told to enjoy are raises. And now we have 1 furlough day each month and no cost of living increase this year. On top of that, as of November 1st, California has increased it's stat tax withholding by 10% and our county taxes went from 8.75% to 9%. But we're told we're making more money.

Health cost go up because of Insurance companies and uninsured taking up services in the emergency rooms. Insurance companies have no business in handling our medical benefits. They are just as bad as government. They are bunch of bureaucrats who take up too much of the money we pay. The system we have now cost too much money and too much of the money we pay goes to non-medical services.

Make everybody a paying customer by making them pay for health care through sales tax. This way, even illegal aliens are actually paying for it by spending money while they are here. 5 percent state sales tax, and 5 percent federal sales tax. and 2 percent from state and fed side to go into national health care voucher system, where the sick can pick and chose whatever hospital or doctor they want to go see.

I rather pay 10 percent sales tax than pay blue cross and blue shields $200.00 a pay so they can fight with my doctor about a bill and I wind up paying for whatever either one don't want to pay or cover.
