Oo yeah, your button portal would be perfect. RS should totally add that. (It'd just be the cherry on top of a classic map-moment tho :). Loved the nether use in this map)

@Golgot100 I'm not sure how the mechanic of creating and destroying the portal would effect the portal placement in the normal world - ie if you passed from the normal world to the nether, shut the portal down / move to another chunk, turn on another portal using the button trick - the destination portal would probably be newly generated, unless your intended destination just happens to be in the optimal position in the chunk.
And I didn't steal the hyrdoponics idea from @jigarbov. I think we both came up with that about the same time and I didn't find it in his map until many weeks (months?) later. But his is cooler.
This is an extremely enjoyable playthrough. I was delighted that you noticed the wires and fell through the bot factory. I'm sorry that Mojang screwed up the lighting in 1.8, so it's hard to see some details. The 'toilets' are clone tubes and have fetuses floating in them. You ran out of redstone torches because there are just enough for the boundary, not those buildings yet, but no issue - just remember you have the buttons later.
@jigarbov That'll be great to watch your playthrough once it's up! I'll be able to see what I miss :P.
And don't get too excited yet about Convenience, I still have a fair bit to do on it. I wanted to wait til 1.8 to get into it seriously to discover what mechanics would change - I hope it'll be worth it!

@dadonn Ahh true. It wouldn't connect to the exit you wanted if you booted it up from scratch.
Ah well, there's def a map out there with 'random portals' written all over it somewhere. Return to Bloodycross maybe? ;)
