ah, and thats not all in real life, with the right conditions, the wind speed , weather, and distance can affect the bullet drift. Jus play call of Duty 4 and find out.
I think the m95 is better for Ranges longer then 250 metres simply becuz it has the miliradian marks that you can memorize bullet drop values, for instance at 300 metres with a 15 degree alt difference you aim 1/2 the first miliradin for a hs. The l96 is quieter *hinting for medium to slightly long range 4 risk of being heard. plus it has horizontal radians meant for judging close moving targets. Also the m95s bul.drop is more significant making it easier to judge.
Mil-dots aren't for drop compensation. If you've used them before, in real life, on a real firearm, you know that an Army standard Mil-dot is just a hair more than three and a half minutes of angle. This allows you to assume that the gap between the center of two dots at 100 yards is going to be 3.5", and can be applied to objects of a known size in order to find the range and adjust elevation and windage accordingly. When taking longer shots, mil-dots allow accurate point of aim adjustments.
OMG! In real life, a Canadian sniperteam in the middle-east, pinned a rebel from 1800 meters away. thru (correct me plz) a brick wall. in real life the M95 is a lot more precise than it's in BF2.
It was 2200 meters and in the open, but otherwise correct.
As for bullets going long distances - the coaxial machinegun in the M1 Abrams tank can, with the help of the onboard fire control computer, hit a target at 2000 meters with the first shot - and it's a measly 7.62mm NATO.
Getting hit with a .308 doesn't guarantee a kill. The problem with snipers is that they're useless for close quarters combat, and need a good amount of time to compensate for drop, wind, movement, then line up their shot and take it.
OMFG! no wonder i couldnt get any head shots in bf2, CUZ THERES A FERAKIN BULLET DROP. well, now that i know that, i might be able to get easier kills.
Nope, you got that from cod4 solo player or what ?lol coriolis effect is bullet deviation.bullet drop is the bullet shut down from a distance...if they putted coriolis effect in BF2....sniping would have been 100x harder...
if the rifel is set to go 300M then th bullet would go high on shorter distances and lower on longer distances... So the game is actualy totaly incorekt, since you don't set the scope... i use a 30.8 caliber rifel. (sry for spelling, im a swede)
if you still have the same problem, you should try making a squad and using the attack marker. You need to place it between the targets legs and it shows the approximate range
Also, the range is alot further than stated. In the first shot. The # on the flag behind the target may say "150", but those of us who have shot at man size target knows that for a torso to be so small in natural view, it has to be at lease 200 meters if not more.
At 100 meters, he should be the size of a man standing at the other endzone.
meh, a better example is probably Sniper Elite http://www.rebellion.co.uk/sniperelite.htm
BF2 Sux .. if you want a challenging Sniper experience play america's army - there is no bullet drop but the scope stability and hand tremor take alot of skill to overcome.
oh yeah, for sure there is... Its not very realistic though :( if you want great bullet arcs... play some Delta force: Black Hawk down.... it may be dated, but they have it right on.
now bf2 is crappy the bullet flies with 1000 m/s and has a livetime of 0.5 seconds
this means the bullet flies just 500 meter far -.-

there is tons of drop but not very noticeable for the l96. If you don't believe me try taking someone out at 200m with the m24.

U cant make a game so realistic, otherwise snipers would be sooooooooooo overpowered...just imagine on middle distances ...one shoot one kill!

mate its at like 10000m it starts to drop, honestly when are you gna be taking these shots in bf2? you cant see half that far on karkers anyhow.
sanddust0 4 years ago
You can see that far in BF2 1200m is already like a mile. Bullet drop starts at like 200m-300m i think.
