While having to go through the game twice was a little bit of a drag, I did really like the fact that while Nero could defeat the bosses, it took Dante to kill them.

I think he was killed, if you read the booklet from the first game i think it says what happened. It was either he was killed, or he chose to turn human somehow and yeah, then died of old age

Dante would have been a kickass Dodgeball character with those moves (NES game from the early 90s) but alas, only in dreams. DMC 4 is awesome but I hated fighting Dante in the beginning because I didn't want to hurt him...even though he heals quickly :D

@fitzroy7777777 even the gameplay and enemies in DMC4 were more suited towards Nero's fighting style than Dante, i felt i had to do extra with Dante in this one
