At those speeds you wouldn't get hurt walking into that pole... test it at proper speeds. Do a EuroNCAP test, or is Proton too scared to allow that? Remember the test of the Jumpback by ANCAP (similar to EuroNCAP). That was really bad. Also, cars in Malaysia get sold without any safety equipment. i.e. the Perodua MyVi in Malaysia has 0 airbags. The expensive one 2. As Daihatsu Sirion in Europe: 4 airbags minimum, optional 6 or 8 or so. (It's cheaper too, for the same car.)

@Jake7206 Of course cars are not invincible, but some are better than others. Like a slightly modified Caterham... crashed, flew through the air and rolled several times at high speeds. The driver was ok. Do that in a Kancil. And even if you drive slow... some idiot crashes into you at high speeds. Drive an old Kancil and you're dead. Drive a new Renault and you won't even get bruises. At least demand some basic security. (And cars like the new Focus try everything to prevent crashes.)

@Jake7206 I disagree. Of course, if you are totally reckless then it won't save you. But an Uncle crashed his 7 series at about 200 km/h. He and his son were quite fine after that crash. And being a careful and safe driver won't help you if some idiot crashes into you. It's a mixture of being a good responsible driver AND driving a safe car. In Germany there are many news reports of someone in a safe car crashing into an unsafe car, the latter driver died, the one who caused the crash doesn't.

This was done at 31kph, what a load of crap, the bumper impact test was done with the car's brakes off, as for the dummy calibration this too is a load of crap, a simulation on non destructive tissue achieves nothing, contolled testing is nothing like the real thing.

Big business trying to fool a lot of people as usual, you get what you pay for, if it's cheap you know it isn't good, apples aint apples in the real world
