  • uhm, for the people wondering, its made so that its like a mix of several different languages, but it really doesnt mean anything

  • @Kt8090 Yes "Square" lol, this is a Cavia game, and it was produces from multiple languages just futuristic. Emi Evans (the vocalist) stated herself she used French, German, Latin, Japanese, English, Gaelic and more just with a futuristic sound, making it all completely unique.

  • Just a notice for those arguing about the lyrics, the lyrics where taken from multiple language formats such as Latin, Japanese, french even Russian. From that, they cut up the words or phases to basic phonic sounds. They has no meaning other than to sound eargasmic.

  • @MaunRIFT de rien !

Pas mauvais français en passant ;-)

  • Anyway still a pleasure to be back on this vid to listen to the track ^_-

  • @ MInuhanyouM I knew it ^^ I read an interview in french about her work upon the game !

  • If I had written this song, I think I would be content with my life and could die happy right now.

  • @ gigaganon oh you seem to be know a quite on this subject ! I haven't the occasion to hear a lot of false language invented by japanese. I remember for Final Fantasy X they had invented the songs of the prayers, the songs were japanese lyrics split it out and logically mix if I say so. But the resuslts were very interested

  • @larmesdespoir it wasn't by a japanese person, they hired a british person, emi evans to make up the songs in the game and sing them. go visit her web site or better yet check out some interviews they did for nier on google!

  • This was the first song I heard from the OST and when I played the game I was surprised where it plays...

  • @dainlord Yes, it is

  • This song makes me want to play the game!

  • ONE WORD ONLY....REMARKABLE...

  • I made the Midi file for this song, Check my Video of it for the link.

  • (I revised the lyrics I made up... This should flow better. Again, sorry if they don't help, I based them off the way dipthongs and other phonetics are written in the languages I know and know of.) ---------- Kjareé vou pali tondou preja vé, Flaneé ne mou zsoirlouru, So fla mou nusiorna kanerou, Isoir se tou flanuéshu. ---- Louri sé dosjal pireé, Louri on seda loutreé, Louri zjé pera savou, Louri on troi la setou. ----- x2

  • I made up some lyrics to help me sing this. They may only be useful to me because I based it on bits of languages I know/(of.) I don't speak French btw. I'm not following any one language's phonetics, but I'm just posting this incase someone else finds it useful.

Kjareé vou pali tondou preja vé,

    Flaneé ne mou zsoirlourou,

So fla mou nousior na kanerou,

    Isoir se tou flanuéshu.

    Louri se dosjal pireé,

    Louri on seda loutreé,

    Louri je pera savou,

    Louri on troi la setou.

  • Poor kaine.... :( and her poor grandma...

  • how sad :(

  • The lyrics were made up in the language made by Cavia for NieR. NieR takes place in a post apocalyptic world. Cavia has said that all the lyrics to these songs are meant to be in a futuristic English language.

  • @boogfdz

Not just english, also japanese, portuguese, french (like this one) and german.

  • THIS GAME IS THE GREATEST GAME IN HISTORY AND IF U DISAGREE U WANNA FIGHT?! ILL FIGHT CHU!!!

  • This song is amazing

  • awesome

  • @wolflove654 She would kick your ass if you were to say that in front of her! lol

  • hmm this is the BGM I heard from JP official site of Nier

  • This + rainymood.

  • LOVE this game.

  • I want piano to learn this. :C

  • Beautiful. :)

  • Why is the song called Grandma? I never finished the game...

  • @Alchemistx99 Because a certain main characters grandma died while this song was playing.

  • @Alchemistx99 kaine's grandmother was squished by a shade and then that shade almost killed kaine so he entered her in oreder to save her life. But he wanted to wait till she died so he could eat her.

  • This game has such an amazing soundtrack.

  • This hurts my mind. Seriously, it's been ages since a game song had such an impact on me. Too beautiful indeed.

  • It's soo beautiful *-*

  • Must. Have. Sheet music. Actually the whole piano book for this game would just be awesome.

  • @seppukkake piano book indeed D:

i got music sheet from this song, but not the voice part yet =/

  • You just have to love that piano piece, its so amazingly done. How it all fits together with the little "novel" segments in the story and even though it keeps repeating I enjoy it more and more every time.

  • Is this the song that is played during the text-mode in the forest of dreams during the inhabitants nightmares? I am pretty sure it was instrumental only and I'm looking for a version without the vocals. Who knows more about it?

  • Can someone tell me the name of that song you hear when *SPOILER* the princess of facade dies *SPOILER ENDS* please ?

    Thanks

  • I'm completely in love with this song. <3

  • when does this song play?

  • @calitz87 have to beat the game for the first time and then play it for the second time and I believe thats where it plays it when your at the time when your reading about the girls past. I could be wrong but I think thats where it is.

  • my favorit song of all the nier songs

  • Beautiful Soundtrack. Especially during the text part of Kainé's story these evoke some pretty strong emotions. Awesome.

  • The languages used in this soundtrack are supposed to be a futuristic evolution of modern day languages according to Emi Evans, the vocalist/lyricist.

  • hiya peops, i did some research...

these songs are sung and written by emi evans. She made these songs from different languages such as: French, Spanish, gaelic, portuguese, italian and Japanese and more... didn't find the lyrics yet.

  • let's just pretend it's a song from Facade's village

  • @DonlineIam

For the Facade language, they just picked up japaneses phrases and cut down some words from it. That's what it sounds to me.

  • @galvenize2

you're right! i noticed some words that sound very suspiciously like japanese!

  • @galvenize2 AGREED WITH DONLINELAM!! :D

  • @galvenize2 that's exactly what i thought too !!!!

  • I realised that ! I'm french so I was aware of it, but what I meant is that the voice is so evanescent that it is difficult to understand precisely the pronunciation

But if catch somewhere the lyrics would you it share with us ?

  • @larmesdespoir

The lyrics are made up. But it is true they were inspired by the french language to make this song.

  • @galvenize2

The lyrics of the songs to the NieR OST is a mixture of several languages.

  • @KjT8090 actually galvenize2 is right, to make these songs the artists was told to take these languages and make them sound how they would in the future, this way no one can fully understand the lyrics. i think each song is in a different language.

look it up, she used French, Japanese and more.

  • @KjT8090 You are aware you just called someone stupid, when you can't recognise that this isn't Latin? Do you not know what Latin sounds like?

  • @larmesdespoir there are no lyrics at all, it's just random, not-words, put together to sound awesome, in some language, because NieR's music is inspired by French, English, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Gaelic, and I missed some, but there are at least 12 languages that inspired the music of NieR.

  • @larmesdespoir japanese people aren't very original when they must invent a language, in a lot of anime or videogame, when they talk an unknow language, it's allways sounds a lot like japanese

  • the lyrics sounds like french but I cannot catch a word :p

  • @larmesdespoir

Thats because it isn't french. It's a mixture of several different languages.
