All the great on this Earth is seen from a distance. Now, after 20 years it is clear for me that the Reed was a great singer. And more - he was a one of the best and honest men of that times. It is enough for me personally to remember him forever. Thank you Dean for your being.
In 1985, the American political satirist Mark Russell did a show about tv programs from the USSR, showing things never before seen of U.S. tv. The beginning of this song/video was one of the things shown, and Russell had to explain to the American viewers just who this guy was. It's the only time I've ever heard his name until seeing this now.

I have known this song for more than 20 years, due to Usha Uthup, an Indian singer, who used to start all her life programs with this song.
