My daughter used to do that when she was a baby! I never had a video tape to capture it though. She's 7 now and doesn't do it anymore. She doesn't have asthma or anything either. I used to describe it as the quick breaths a child takes after they've been crying really hard.
Have you asked a doctor about this? Our newborn does exactly this too and we are also wondering (and worried!)

my baby has this too, i'm thinking he's just having a bad dream but not sure though.
and it worry me.
