@AnahSkywalker you probably right Anne did turn in a bitchy queen after Katherine died . however Katherine and Henry's marriage was over before Anne came along
@5Roselilly most likely she would of been executed or divorced .I think Henry liked Anne boylen the most but he was to much in love with the idea of having a son when she gave birth to Elizabeth he was angry but he still loved her I believe if Anne had a son or sons he would of stayed with her. X
@5RoseLilly Its hard to say, most likely divorced or even beheaded. But unlike Anne, Jane was submissive, whereas Anne was troublesome. So charges against Jane for 'adultery' would have seemed unlikely. Not saying Anne was guilty, but Jane was liked by the people.. whereas Anne was not. So he may have just got remarried, and pushed her aside like Catherine. But I expect he would have tried again for another child with her... but would have been losing his nerve. No one can say for sure.
LOL, it was so amusing to see Princess Mary's heartfelt and somber plea for Edward's health alongside Katherine Howard's frivolous romp with her lover. Such a striking contrast between the two young women. In this series, Mary behaved much more like a queen, whereas Katherine was like a silly little girl playing dress up (well, when she actually decided to wear clothes, that is. She was naked most of the time...)
@BlackRaven0211 :0 That's for sure, if Henry VIII had been a good father, England might not have been divided over religion after his death, Queen Mary might have been a better queen than Queen Elizabeth or at least England might have been a stronger nation both religiously and politically.
I'm glad they made 'the Tudors' at least i got more interest in learning about Queen Mary and KOA. Before, all the hype was focused on Queen Elizabeth and his horny father.
I think in this scene Henry is also reminded of Mary's mother, Catherine of Aragon. You can see how proud he is of her, as Catherine was loved by the people too. Plus all of Henry's children in season 4 have had a mother/child moment, like when Elizabeth has the exact same bow and smile as Anne, and it reminds Henry of her. And when Henry can see Jane in Edward, and Edward shows him his mothers portrait and thimble.
These were the people who started and participated in The Pilgrimage Of Grace. They were pro Catholic and always supported Queen Katherine and saw Princess Mary as the true heir.
Especially when they had Steven Waddington play The Duke Of Buckingham. I just about howled with laughter that they had the PERFECT actor to play King Henry VIII. Red haired, tall, and powerfully built. Sigh.
if Mary didn't give in to her obsession of bringing back England to Catholicism, she may have been a great queen. After all, she is Katherine of Aragon's daughter and descended from pure royalty.
Sarah Bolger (Princess Mary) looks amazing in that gown (0:20)!!! Is there a website where they just have the costumes/jewelry of The Tudors (like decent sized)? If there is, can someone please tell me where to find it!!!
Edward's adorable...I can't help but notice Jane Seymour's theme playing in the background when he woke Henry up. It kind of makes me feel like Jane was in the room, smiling down on her boy.
@gracieloo123 helo im frm India and Iam a Fervent Tudor enthusiast.i had watched the 1st n 2nd season in 2009 march n may.can u pls tell me when the 3rd n the 4th seaon will air in India n the rest Asia.
@HistoryLover1550 the problem was political as always..the people in the north of England were majority catholic and loved Queen Catherine and many of them considered the legitimate heiress of the throne only to mary.
for that reason Henry decide go to there with Mary and not with Elizabeth, becasue all the people hated AB
That's not entirely true actually. The majority of the north was Catholic/didn't like Anne Boleyn, but I researched the Pilgrimage of Grace after I watched those episodes/discovered that many were disgusted/horrified that Henry had her executed/disgusted that he remarried less than 2 weeks after her death (though they did love Jane Seymour). They viewed that as vulgar behavior.
@TheStarSorceress yes porbabely true..but in this moment, when Henry goes to the north with Mary, he is actually married with the fifth wife...Ane boleyn is in the past
And in this moment if you need do some political movement...is wise go with the legitimate daughter and heiress to the catholics eyes...
sorry for my bad english my mother language is spanish
@JuzTudor70AD. You've got some brilliant videos. I apologise if the grammar doesn't seem important but Mary gives a speech at Pontefract Castle in Yorkshire. Yorkshire is a county so it would be the same as saying at California, at Ontario or at Queensland. (Can you guess where I come from? ;o))
i think at 3:54 we see how regal Mary looks in comparison to Katherine. Also with the ways that the two are waiting. Mary keeps her head up and looks patient while Katherine is looking more like a sulky teenager than Queen of England.
The comparison is also shown at 7:00 when Mary is praying for Edward's recovery. At the same time Katherine is spending the night with Thomas. I know she may not feel the same kind of connection to Edward that Mary does but you would think she would be concerned
@littlehyperbox that shows the lovely and human person that mary was ..to all who defends the "poor Kitty" she only wants fornicates and wearing expensives dresses...absolutely stupid woman..
Mary only four years older than Catherine were a smart, cultivated, and state woman
So sweet how Mary prays for her little half-brother! Everyone fears for the boys life but not this whore Katherine and her lover! I hate them for that. The little Edward is so cute how he plays with the hair of henry!
@MultiMissLucy Henry VIII was supposed to meet the King of Scotland. His present to him was a golden egg-shaped container filled with pearls. (A sign of peace & friendship) But the King of Scotland did not come. Worse, his army was harassing England's borders. That made Henry VIII very angry & that's why he broke the golden egg.
@crazyloverofcats OF COURSE HE DID! If only Henry had not made suffer her poor daughter in that sadistic way, she could have been a great queen like all women of her mother's family
@hattaru. Because his brother had died, so Henry knew that having one son would be dangerous, because he could die and then there would be no male heirs, it's good for a king to have multiple sons, that way if one dies, the second eldest will be king. it's all politics I'm afraid.
Awesome!! I saw this a couple of days ago, good episode, I just found it so funny that in the last scene here comes the note that will seal Kathrine Howards fate, and hear comes Henry praising her, very funny indeed.!!! love it, now besides this episode is the next episode out yet, or is it next week? thanks again for posting all of theses. love you for it!!! -_~
I hate how he treats his son like gold, I wonder if he cared if Mary or Elizabeth were "dangerously ill" oh but of course not, because according to them men were better than women. sigh.
@mckfrr In real life, "No" he did not care if they were sick, but he did vist them!! but he just did not care, it is sad that he humm.. cared a lote more about his son then his daughters, very sad!!! but we all know that his son did not come close to them, in the end!! it always kind of made me think.. why did he want a son form Kathrine if he already had a son form "Jane" very intresting.
I have mixed feelings about Mary. I feel bad for the way she was treated and the failures in her reign which were not her fault, but her judgement was often lacking, costing Englan many lives and money. But she is portrayed wonderfully in this series!

As a TV series, this is well made.
As history, it's a total fiasco.
There are so many errors of fact I don't know where to start.
The most obvious howler: Henry VIII was renowned as a tall man, powerfully built and athletic when young, becoming portly in his later years.
Why on earth did they cast this scrawny specimen to play a colossus?
