Thats not nec the same jr...Guitar player for this tour has one just like that smashed in two in his studio that paul broke. I recon he had a few jr's over the years that met early demises...
Great, energetic live version of this song. The Replacements are one of my all time faves but you never knew what you'd get from them at a live show back in the day. Yesterday, I was thinking about this tune for the first time in years. 20 seconds later, the local LA sports radio station played it as bumper music... wierd!
Pretty sure that it's a Gibby Junior. First that I saw him play it was on the '91 tour with the mats. It appears in the "I'll Be You" video with the mats, and then again in '04 on the "What a Day For a Night" video. It has somehow escaped being smashed in all those years!
He plays a Jr... um.. John Lennon hint.

In "All Over but the Shouting", Westerberg claims Tom Petty stole "rebel without a clue" for "Great Wide Open".

No, you're wrong. Just like Sting wasn't The Police. If anything, Bob was the 'mats and Stewart was the Police.

The question I've always had about this song was:
Who was "Surfer Joe"?

Looks like a fun party, I think I was there, but who knows? I was as drunk as Paul back then...

His best backing band ever, though HOF comes mighty close. Minehan and Freese are monsters.
