Good vid mate. I was there today n like your prev comments I really didn't know about it until the guy from Historic Scotland at Tantallon Castle said he really liked it. It's def one of the most complete examples I've been too so far. Really interesting find.
Cool I always go to Craigmillar castle every week. Cause it's one of the few historic sites in Edinburgh that don't get much Tourist visiting. What i mean by that is when you go in to town and you look at the Tourist info there is no mention of Craigmillar castle. The Castle needs more exposer. What do you think ?
Is Craigmillar crawling with information people like a few of the other castles? I'm looking for castle ruins to shoot scenes of a film around and it's so far a toss up between here and Crichton.
i've never seen it hoping to see edinburgh sometime this year not too many opportunities arise to see these medievel treasures for people living in the states
This is my favourite place on earth ~ I've got many fond memories of my beautiful nanna (R.I.P) taking me here, so "flower of Scotland" made me get all teary, but in a good way. Thankyuo for sharing this.
if my facts are right, my great great great great great great great grandfather Sir John Gilmour used to own this castle :) tho im not a 100% sure. but my old family history books say i was related to a Sir John Gilmour.
yeah the gilmour's did own the castle theres a window pediment on the top floor with the initials DMC which stands for dame margaret cockburn. the wife of john gilmour.john gilmour acquired the castle in 1660
This video is simply fabulous. I can tell you have put a lot of thought into this video, by showing the signs, and I can tell you love the place. I think the castle is marvellous, and you have inspired me with a hunger to visit it. Thank you so much for sharing this, scottishguy99, it's really very much appreciated. Take care, and please, keep posting the history videos. People appreciate them. Don't be put off by culturally bankrupt losers trying to do you down.
if u dont like what i put on youtube not watch who do u think u r calling me scottish scum y dont u act ur age not ur shoe size haters like u should be taking off the site do u get cheep thrill hurting people think first
Pathetic? I'm so very surprised you can spell the word, considering you probably couldn't spell IQ. Keep up the good work Scottish guy .. I lived in Craigmillar Court on the top floor for 4 years. I still never got fed up of the view of the Castle from my window every day. Bugger, wish i hadn't moved to Manchester! lol
