Loved this film, Bardem in particular was fantastic as Uxbal, while I'm on the subject of movies in the Spanish/Latino idiom,Perro El Bon Bon ( ? ) is great too. The Best I've seen yet though, is, Soy Cuba, go see it folks : )
This was a great movie. This trailer is so good. That narration really fits the tone (is it Javier Bardem speaking, I think his voice is deeper even in english)
I understand if people don't agree with this and if anyone even feels offended by this, but the narration in this trailer is one of the most horrible one's ever used and doesn't do this piece of art any justice. The text itself might not sound as cliche otherwise but this makes it seem like an absolutely awful movie. It is worth innumerably more than what is offered here.
@Joshjoss Nope, I haven't seen it yet and am about to watch it tonight and that voiceover is absolutely atrocious. If I didn't know better I would think it was a pile of shit and avoid it due to that voiceover.
i dont know anything for sure about the music, though considering Inarritu's previous works, it might be Gustavo Santaolalla playing the guitar. (Have you checked out the soundtrack list? .imdb.com/title/tt1164999/soundtrack I guess it's not here, but worths a try.) good luck with finding the song;)
I know everyone is saying this but if anyone EVER finds this track somewhere please let me know even if you're reading this comment in 50 years time - if I'm still alive I'll want this track
@veovideomaga Well I tried it, and nothing came up except for videos with Gustavo's music from other films and his own albums. You have to be more specific.
@ostpizzan The director is Mexican.... and havent you heard of Pans labyrinth, Babel, Amorres Perros, Y tu mama Tambien?? all mexican movies. Some of the best contemperary directors are Mexican such as Guillermo Del Toro, Alfonso Cuaron, and Alejandro Gonzales Iñarritu. You're probably a racist American that doesnt know shit, and besides most American movies now are shit! just overpaid actors with too many special effects. European, Asian, and latin american films are better nowadays.
@delxart Yes, you're right man! Mexican cinema today is wondrous. Have you seen Children of Men? Not only Del Toro, Cuarón and Iñárritu are great, check out the work of Amat Escalante and Carlos Reygadas
It's John Murphy's Adagio in D minor (sunshine ost) with some little charango bit that Gustavo Santaolalla has put over the top. I've looked everywhere for it but it seems not to exist as a track on it's own :( If anyone knows where it can be found I'd love to know.
corrupción de la policia, desorden mental de la mujer, infidelidad, cancer ,drogas, muerte, inmigración ilegal......es la película más depresiva del mundo......si quieres suicidarte y no te atreves tienes que verla
This movie disturbed me to the core and that's a testament to superb filmmaking. This is the type of movie I can only view once because it's rather gloomy and outright depressing but I feel priviledged to have seen it. Javier Bardem is no doubt one of the best actors around. The entire cast was briliiant.
I hardly know anything about this film, but the editing and music has made me very interested in seeing it. When was the last time you saw a trailer that didn't give half of the key plot points away within 2 minutes?
Trailers should set the mood and tone of the film. They are an extremely important part of marketing films, and I love it when a trailer doesn't fall into the standard routine with the same boring Hollywood editing and music.
@gjcobb The score was composed by the argentinian composer Gustavo Santaolalla. Santaolalla won the Oscar twice, for scoring Brokeback Mountain and the next year, for Babel.
@GibtsFragen gota be something from Gustavo Santaolalla but I can't find this exact melody anywhere. It is a rearrangement for the trailer for sure but finding the original song would be cool. Let me know if you find it... Also is it just me, or this trailer is far better than the official?...
@GibtsFragen Its pretty sure, that Gustavo Santaolalla plays it, he always does the scores for movies directed by Inarritu... Try downloading the soundtrack (: My fav is Iguazu by G.S., from Babel (also s.track for 21grams or The Insider).
All I can say is that everyone should go see this movie. when I left the cinema I was literally in this weird daze, couldn't stop thinking about it after. Definately one of my favourite movies :)
