Although I'm not a psychiatrist or psychologist, as a molecular biologist I've read countless books and articles within psychiatry & psychology. He may have several things going at the same time. 1 - personality disorder(s) (no doubt) and 2 - a possible mood disorder co-morbidity. Narcissistic Personality Disorder is feasible & a possible type of bipolar disorder (I, II, cyclothymia, hypomania, etc.). It's a guess...
Note that Dr. Hare and Dr. Blair categorize antisocial personality disorder, psychopathy, and sociopathy as distinct personality disorders (same group). An antisocial individual may be a drug dealer who has gone to jail and continues to deal drugs compulsively (HAS empathy & emotions), a psychopath is someone without empathy and without anxiety (they are risk takers and are cold individuals), and a sociopath is emotionally chaotic but also lacks empathy.

Sociopaths are usually loners and/or live on the fringes of society. A psychopath would only care about money, material wealth, or power status (criminal, businessman, police officer, etc.). It is possible he is a sheltered sociopath, so you could be right. I see a disturbance in mood, too.

I have had one brief encounter with Vanomfangx on comments on a Tony Darnell video. Didn't get his simplistic statements at that time, but since than i learned a lot more about this medium and people like him on it, thanks to guys like you. I've a friend who used to be really... unusual at elementary school, kind of sociopathic plus he stuck his head in his school bag and stuff. Are you using Thunderf00t as an example of a "happy" atheist? His primary distinguishing trait is anger. He has expressed explicitly on one of his videos that it is more important to be RIGHT than happy.
It's good. I think a lot of viewers liked it more than I did, but I enjoyed it. I think some of his videos are quite good, even excellent at times. But I still would not use him as a role model for happiness. His is more passionate about "exposing" others and "pwning" them than about spreading truth... anger.
I think the keyword is passionate. He's passionate about science. Naturally, he's enraged by pseudo-sciences like creationism. His anger is what made him popular, true, but I do believe that there is much, much more to him. For instance, his videos "PURE NERD PORN" and "Scientifically Proven 'Miracle Water'" show the joy that science brings him.

I have had one brief encounter with Vanomfangx on comments on a Tony Darnell video. Didn't get his simplistic statements at that time, but since than i learned a lot more about this medium and people like him on it, thanks to guys like you. I agree that there must be something very wrong with people who seem to miss the ability to see thing from a different point off view, not just for there opinions but also for the way they react on critics and the facts they bring into a discussion.

And there are quite a few real doctors, IE with a MD's licence, that are hacks and shouldnt be operating either.tens of thousands die every year (wrong prescription, misdiagnosis, etc) from doctors who memorized enough to pass the test but shouldnt be practicing.

this is an excellent video, at the end my disdain for PCS had dissipated I feel very bad for this guy, he seems to have some issues personally or something has deeply warped his view on society and reality.

Just a side note... I love how Satan is supposed to be evil and yet according to the Bible he's killed ten people - Job's children, whom God actually said he could kill so he could prove to Satan that Job would still praise him afterwards. I've a friend who used to be really... unusual at elementary school, kind of sociopathic plus he stuck his head in his school bag and stuff. He got balanced eventually, I think partly thanks to him learning martial arts which gave him a "frame", and now hes pretty normal, however, he is kind of fundamentalist religious in a very strange way, and I wonder wether this tendency of his has to do with his disorder. Hope VenomFangX will improve, though it seems impossible...

It's good. I think a lot of viewers liked it more than I did, but I enjoyed it. I think some of his videos are quite good, even excellent at times. But I still would not use him as a role model for happiness. His is more passionate about "exposing" others and "pwning" them than about spreading truth... anger.

I think the keyword is passionate. He's passionate about science. Naturally, he's enraged by pseudo-sciences like creationism. His anger is what made him popular, true, but I do believe that there is much, much more to him. For instance, his videos "PURE NERD PORN" and "Scientifically Proven 'Miracle Water'" show the joy that science brings him.
Overall, there are many sides of a person.
