  • when you devide fractins do you have to receprocal on the 2nd fraction

  • @MsNawar2011 to divide, you multiply by the reciprocal, yes

  • wow .5 looked so easy, yet im still stuck with my stupid decimal 21.14 :(

  • theres a much easier way i learned in 6th grade merit math you say the fraction ex. .67 would be sixty seven hundrenths so you make 67/100 then simplify!!!

  • OMG,... I ACUALLY GET IT :}D

  • I like your method!

  • Definately subbed. Ive looked at some whack tutorials ...Your the only one that explains it the way i can understand

  • omg why show this video when you are doing it.... ''what I'M gonna go is''

i dont care what you do. omg!

  • thanks

  • :D found a new easy way to simplify

  • thankss yuck!

  • what if .9999 is .999999999999999999999999999999999999999999998

eight at the end, hehehe pretty shitty huh?!

  • so is it all ways going to be one on the denominator?

  • THANK U!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • O_O

  • THANKS ALOT!!

  • what about 0.375???

  • That last example is not difficult at all, and I think a teacher could use that last problem as a model of why it is important to know properties of multiples of 10. The number you write is 1.234789, which is 1234789/1000000. The ONLY prime factors of 1000000 are 2 and 5 (just a bunch of them). Well, 1234789 is not even, so 2 doesn't divide it. And 12347689 doesn't end in 0 or 5, so 5 doesn't divide it. Hence, the fraction is already fully reduced. That's about the easiest problem of them.

  • i want my teacher to give me a question like that last one so i can say "your being a bully" lol not but really... thanks for the vids :)

  • so basically you simplify the numbers..

  • You can actually right (for 2.88) as 2(2•72)/2(2•25) and cancel out two 2s ... its the same thing but again if its about saving time you can do it in once step instead of going to another ... :)

  • u r not explaining y

  • @gangadarits i only explain x

  • @patrickJMT tee hee

  • Thank sooo much :D

  • you putting '.5' instead of '0.5' irritates me! Just because it's not the way i've learnt it so it takes a while to go in.

  • Why did you put a 1 instead of 100? I thought you were ALWAYS meant to put 100, explain please?

  • our teacher gave us seatwork like that of your last example :D haha

  • So iF iWere To Do A TerminatinG Number WouLd iT Be The Same Number ?

  • thanks so much. subbed

  • i should have known this since high school!

  • couldn't u write that as 2 wholes 88/100

  • thank u sooooo much!!!!!!1

  • Okay, I agree you have good handwriting in general(way too good for a math teacher lol) But I just wanna point out that, you write your "7"s in a beautiful way. You know I used to write my 7s just like that but my 5th grade teacher insisted on writing them with a line in the middle and it kinda got stuck with me.Now, that I'm watching these vids, I kinda wanna change my 7s back to make them look pretty.

    P.S. Thanks for the vids!(:-

  • thank you i was having some problems with 3 desalinate places converting them to fractions your video made it easier

  • Thank you for doing that with muspliplication to cancel on. I learnt this thanks

  • 0.33(0.333333) =1/3 uhhhmmm can you pls, pls, pls pllllsss help me on how .33 converts to 1/3 ??? i uhhmm jst really frustrated:(

  • What would the answer be for .5, 1.75, and 2.88 in mixed numbers rather than improper fractions?

  • how we express a number like this one : "4.162162... " in the form a/b, where a,b are integers and b is not equal to zero ??

it's one of the final questions!! YUCK!

  • Thank you very much!

  • hey i got a question please answer what's 0.635 into a fraction how do u do it cuz i need to show steps like work

  • 1234789/1000000= YUCK!

  • 1 does equal .9 repeating. It is the same number. Look it up in Number theory or on wikipedia.

  • lol....yuck!

  • thanks

  • lol 1234789/1000000 = yuck!

you're such a winner. and thanks for this vid

  • Nice technique.

  • try turning .9999... (repeating non terminating) into a fraction. it comes out as one. weird eh?

  • 0.9999999.... is not a fraction of two whole numbers. (I haven't found two at least), but there are alot of numbers with infinitive decimals that can be written as fractions. For example 0.5454545454.......

    Set x = 0.54545454.....

    Then 100x - x = 54.5454... - 0.54545454...

    99x = 54

    x = 54/99

    x = 6/11

  • how about 1/1

  • 1/1 = 1, not .999999.... repeating. idk just weird to me. thnks for replying though =)

  • well, .9999999...... = 1 = 1/1 : )

  • i think your confusion arises in thinking that .9 repeating is not equal to one, but it is! : )

therefore, the fraction, in reduced form, would be 1/1 : )
