Hey! Don't be so self-effacing! This is an excellent video, you ought to be proud of it. There is a real talent to making a good video, especially one for an artist like Elliott Smith who has so many conflicting emotions wrapped around him, and yours manages to keep up the emotional integrity without lapsing into sentimentality, which I admire. Keep it up! Also, I liked the visual pun with cutting the picture into you and me. That was clever.

Very cool, would liked to have seen the box with cards being flicked onto a book go up in flames as a cheeky burning effigy. Maybe thats just me.

Do some more, there are loads of elliots songs that dont have vids or live performances you can watch and seeing photos of him for 3-4 minutes makes me a little sad. May I suggest "going nowhere".....

"it's a picture perfect evening and i'm staring down the sun; fully loaded, deaf and dumb and done. waiting for sedation to disconnect my head or any situation where i'm better off than dead." i think "sun" was either an ironic euphemism for "gun" on the behalf of elliott or else was an edit on the behalf of the record company. think about it within the context of the line and the song as a whole. the closing lines are about him drugging himself retarded in order to keep himself from suicide.

I agree!!! I had pretty much had only heard the self-titled album and it's all just him and a guitar. When I heard this for the first time and that explosion....well....you know....my eyes widened and it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard.
