  • LUV the song and the very talented John Townsend.

  • Miss the sax in this tune. Still sounds good...

  • Fabulous, will always be a classic!

  • this is a song has been background of my life, never thought buying cd. i've always liked the song...................holding down the soul

  • Dang the memories this brings back!! Thanks for the post

  • killer voice

  • I love John Townsend's voice. Although this certainly isn't the best recording. He has such a GREAT voice!!! I don't approve of cheating, but it's a good song regardless.

  • @Jazsngr what cheating went on, first I have heard of anything?

  • @likesspice73 Jazsngr is talking about the song. It is about cheating.

  • Always loved this song!

  • John Townsend has such an amazing voice. I hope he realizes how much he has inspired so many singers out there. Keep it up, John.

  • John Townsend still has that same, unmistakable voice after all these years. Great Song!

  • @TheBigEd56 not bad. Missing the incredible alto-clarinet bits from the original, but still pretty tasty.

John looks a little animic, if you've ever seen the original. Orange hair?

  • great cover, great song

    Mike Miller

  • To me Boz Scaggs can sometimes sound like this.

  • @layton59 Boz Scaggs? He's a fucking master. duh.

  • Didn't know he was still around signing. Great voice and still very strong with plenty of high notes. Plus he sang it in the same key as originally recorded. Shame the band could not back him in harmonies and sing the alternating parts which are what gives the song the depth it deserves. Overall great job by him, band not so much. This band should be opening for him.

  • @benellidown well stated .

  • this drummer has no clue how to play a southern swing beat this is wayyy tooo stifff didn't he ever listen the original? now that was the WAY to play it!

god the lack of swing these days really pisses me off

  • @ishredu Amen, brother. Swing drumming is becoming a lost art. Mechanics over feel. I've always said, "you can't write swing down on a sheet of music," and I stand by it.

  • @fernandocucumber Agreed, the feel and the passion in the tune are the only notes that are necessary.

  • excellent song! i was only a kid when it was a huge radio song and have loved it since first hearing it

  • is that Tommy Crain playing with Dan Toler?

  • No it's George McCorklin from Marshall Tucker

  • This sounded really good. That guy sang the hell out of the song! Only thing, though, he didn't do the high note at the end, and that's the best part! Still, great performance of a great song!

  • Most everything at our age doesn't get up quite that high anymore, but it's all good, live, love, get a truck with an automatic ...

  • Great band for an outdoor concert. Just give me a blanket a six pack and a cute blond and I'm In Heaven!

  • Love this song. I karaoke it. It's awesome!

  • I am proud to say John is my brother-n-laws older brother and sang at my sisters and his wedding. He has an outstanding voice..

  • Its nice to see that Townsend can still deliver. What a wonderful song. Thanks for the post.

  • This is great, the bullshit about poor quality is just that, you want clean ,perfect sound watch "new kids on the block"the video is raw and the sound is live, get a good system to plug into and crank this motha up.....

  • Good song, but you suck at the repro of it

  • Not worth listening to because of poor A/V quality? Are you crazy bigbells?

Listen to the groove. That's what it's all about, and only the original band really has it.

  • Audio quality from this live recording is really poor. Sound is distorted and unbalanced. Not worth listening to for that reason.

  • Great stuff! Love this song, and he still sounds good.

  • great guitar playing--loved this version!

  • Lots of great memories of this song on the radio in the 70's. Thanks

  • he's still got it

  • Always a classic

  • Great. Great. Great. I had almost forgotten about this song. Thanks for the reminder of how truly classic it is...

  • More Renegades please! Great to hear some good ol' Southern Rock.
