  • A great man and a truly great performer, I grew up listening to all his wonderful songs and he is sadly missed.

  • Happy Birthday Elvis! :) 01/08/1935 - 01/08/2012

  • He's really trying to sound like his idol Bill Kenny of The Ink Spots on this one. The Ink spots recorded this in the early 40's I believe. Great stuff

  • Sorry to tell you,but it is 1953.That's When Your Heartaches Begin (private)William Raskin - Fred Fisher - George Brown

    Recorded: Summer, 1953 (private)

  • the VOICE

  • es increible, es practicamente un a capella, y pareciera q su voz lleva una orquesta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VIVA ELVIS POR SIEMPRE!

  • @notjustadog

ALMOST AS RARE AND PRICELESS IS THE ORIGINAL ELVIS TV GUIDE COVER IN 56' THAT INCLUDED IN IT, A 45 RECORD / INTERVIEW.

BUT EVEN MORE RARE IS THE SONGS HE RECORDED(OR DEMO'S) FOR "JUKE BOX FAVORITES" LIKE "ALWAYS LATE", "SATURDAY NIGHT". ITS SO RARE THAT ONLY ONE PERSON HAS EVER HAD IT. SAM PHILLIPS. MAYBE SOMEDAY IT WILL BE RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC. IT HAS TO DO WITH SOME SORT OF LEGAL THING WITH SAM AND RCA. EVEN NOW AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.

  • he recorded this song on july 18th, my birthday... although i wasnt alive at the time.

  • SANG THESE EARLY RECORDINGS( A TEN INCH ACETATE THAT YOU COULD RECORD FOR 4.00) FOR MAMA.

  • The King in Training

  • I wonder why he sang it high.

  • the king!

  • merci

  • Has it been established what month in 1953 that the very first single was recorded ?

If it was for his mama's birthday then it would be April 1953. But I read it may have been July.

Also we know , Elvis re-recorded "Heartaches Begin " for RCA four years later. I would like to know why he chose not to re- do "My Happiness", "I'll Never Stand in your way" or "Without You". Anyone has a theory as to why?

  • 20 years later, he made history.

  • In this recording Elvis is doing an imitation of the Ink Spots.

  • @victorbrunswick that's an insightful observation. one of the beatles' earliest recordings ("you'll be mine") is likewise an imitation of the ink spots. since they influenced both the early elvis and the early beatles, it makes sense that the ink spots are in the rock and roll hall of fame.

  • @victorbrunswick Yes indeed. Bill Kenny was one of his biggest influences.

  • This is a priceless piece of history....Elvis was a natural even at the age of 18. It's kind of like The Quarrymen's 1957 recording the day John and Paul met. A raw representation of a talent in early stages.

  • Oh this is so great Aina. Didn´t know he´d recorded this one as early as in 1953. Goes to my playlist, so now I´ve got three version of this lovely song. Thanks!
