  • @middle0eye and why on earth would it have to be a tiny pen like? gosh dnt u hve any clues? a pen doesnt have to be small and yes the calfs are hurt they are just babys and anyone who can do tht to them is just sick in the head i dont need to walk a mile in there shoes to know its wrong so dnt u crit me when u think this is ok!

  • @middle0eye Im from scotland, And there is no need for them to drag the calf across the ground like that animals have feelings just like people and i have been to american i went to waco texas but i know for a fact there is no need to drag a baby like tht you wouldnt like it any more than they do what is wrong with putting them all in a pen with a gate to let each one through were its held still and branded that would take no time at all

  • @middle0eye that headcoller on my horse is 1 not cinched tight he was trying to walk towards me n he was tied up and 2 its a feild coller so cant be loose so it that it cant be caught on things im not the one draging animals around before branding them =)

  • @bigbuckhunter130 haha yea yea whatever helps you sleep at nite

  • @bigbuckhunter130 of course it hurts them u should get branded and dragged across the ground n then say it doesnt hurt anyway im done wi u asses thatthink treating any animal this way is the making of a GREAT VIDEO! good day to you! and ps go fuck a duck u moron

  • the way you treated the calfs is sickening theres no need to drag them like that! i mean seriously! you hobble your horses and drag your calfs yep your the fucking bees knees you NOT! cowboys like you make me sick and anyone who can watch this and thinks its a good video is sick int he head your one of the people tht give cowboys a bad name and btw if u reply to this i wont be arguing eith u this turns my stomach

  • LOL..Watch her videos where her horse is trying to kill her & get back to me. You can listen to a kid that's horse is trying to kill them or someone that's been doing it for almost 50 years..

  • i would hardly say my horse was trying to kill me how american! my horse bucked because the saddle didnt fit im not the one that drags baby calfs around ties my horses legs up and agrees with posting videos of roping cows/calfs let me guess you didnt know thats animal cruelty u make me sick you think ur a big man ur not its sad i would say grow up but ur clearly almost decrepit now

  • this is how we do it in OK too. calf fries are good

  • It's my favorite time of the year. I get to see folks I hadn't seen much of all winter & there is lots of great grub & beer when we get done. At this branding we done the last 10 or so in a steady rain & had to ride a mile to the trailers & my slicker was nice & dry on a chair in the barn alleyway where I put it so I wouldn't forget it.

  • Looks like a good time, hard work and a little dirt never hurt anyone.

Thanks for taking the time to show the world how it's done in the midwest.

  • WAT ARE U DOING

  • I'm pretty sure it is something you aren't equipped to understand..

  • Looks pretty laid back . I like it . 15 years ago I use to work a lot of cattle . With horses but nothing like that . We worked about 500 cows and 500 calves . At the most 12 people . But we used a calf table . Now but a couple of them young men on a calf table .One on the head gate . And the other the sqeeze and flip . And in a hour you've had a work out . We changed them too. Some of this comments just blow my mind . Nothing mean about a slow steady drag on a calf . It don't hurt .

  • Oh these people that think this stuff is so harsh mean well but are commenting on something they know absolutely nothing about it.

  • Well tell them to go on a cattle ranch

  • wow, thats alot of calves! lucky you got horses to catch them for yah! we put ours in a small pen and grab them with our hands to do it... i love the brokel faced calves! allways my fav!

  • We do 1500-1700 head on 4 weekends. Roping is the easy, fun part & the rest is a lot of work so we switch jobs. We have lots of good help so we can do around 100 an hour.

  • You're right I have never actually branded only watched FROM THE CORRAL FENCE! Maybe we do things differently in Northern California.

  • Yup, it's done differently in different parts of the US. Sense you are in CA you were probably on dope & don't even remember what ya seen!!

  • I am not from a city, grew up around ranches and branding but why can't they brand them a little closer and not drag them so far? We always had them in a corral and branded them closer.

  • Good grief, the pen is maybe 40ft. The pens have to be that big because to start 100+ cow's & their calves have to be run in there to sort the cow's off & you need room for several ropers to get it done in a hurry & not stress the calves anymore than necessary. These ranchers are businessmen dealing with thousands of dollars worth of calves & know what their doing.

  • Good greif 40 ft! You want to be drug that far?

Businesss or not they are living beings that feel pain although the fear factor most likley kicked in and they were more afraid then in pain.

Not too impressed with your colt starting either, you tie a youngster's head up , why not take the time too do it right with few hours of groundwork!

  • You'll have to explain to me how you can work calves without scaring them some & people that actually know what they are doing reaolize that my colts get along pretty good. BTW..I think the closest you have been to a ranch is a tv movie.

  • Sorry, don't have a clue what your talking abut..
