I am further south in texas city. The media certainly forgot about the area. People helped each other with limited help. We did have FEMA distribution centers for MREs after the storm, but those didnt last long. It took about 2 weeks to get back power. The government hardly helped with anything. Had to pay to fix house and roof damage out of pocket as the insurance companies wouldnt and neither would the govt. It is still a forgotten hurricane after katrina got all the attention

i'm from seabrook and my apartment was spared but we were forgotten. but texans have a way of taking care of eachother.
