  • That's one big belly

  • what is pcos? if i may know?

  • gestational diabetes isn't that bad.

I can only say that because I have type 1 diabetes and I'm pregnant.. haha it sucks.

but I hope your never cursed with type 1 or 2 diabetes!

I hope your babies are doing good :)

  • heres what my diabetic counselor told me:

look at total carbs: 15g is 1 serving.

    Breakfast: 2 servings

    Snack: 1 serving

    Lunch: 3 servings:

    Snack: 1 serving

    Dinner: 3 servings

    Snack: 1 serving.

I asked 'do i look at the sugar amount IN my foods' she said NO.. look at total carbs. I am w/u: control w/exercise and diet. I've been controlling with just diet. she said for exercise I could sit on the couch and do arm work outs.. that counts. lol. okay.. if u have any ?s write me

  • Your situation is a lot like a friend of mine's. She was borderline diabetic with her first but when she conceived twins she also had a mild case of GD. She regulated it purely with diet (lots of salads) and went on to vaginally deliver a 7 lb 8 oz healthy boy and girl 3 weeks early. You're amazing, don't lose hope.

  • water aerobics could work heavy people ( like me) and babys flot in water lol may take some presure off your joints and all that

  • ya your doctor will probably say aquafit or something.

  • Red Sox....Yesss baby....:-) im digging the shirt.... Hoepfully they have better options on Monday.......Thanks for showing us your beautiful face....

  • Awh, that sucks! Atleast it's a mild case! Can you use honey in things since it's a natural made sugar is it okay? I don't know, just a guess! You look great! Your going to be a great momma! Hope everything else is going great!

  • Sorry about the GD hunni :( I was borderling for my 1hr so had to do the 3hr and it came back normal but OMG, those 3hrs sitting there struggling with morning sickness were the WORST :( Just wanted to go home and lie down...

I reckon try some sort of pregnancy aquatics- the water will support the weight of your belly and give you some relief :)

  • Sorry to hear about the GD ... I am glad they caught it .. Take care of yourself mama bear !!!! I think you look amazing sweetie !! I cant wait to see your little ones !!!

    Muah xoxoxoxox

  • for sweets sugar free jello with lite whip cream is the best... it isn't perfect but it helps curb the craving also a great mid meal snack to have is a lite string cheese and an apple. Do not peel the apple either the apple skins contain chromium which helps control blood sugar levels. This snack meats a perfect balance of protein, carb and fat. I was on the gestational diabetic diet for three of my five pregnancies. Did they set you up with an appt with a nutrionist yet?

  • Hun I feel you! I was a 52inch around.. right before I gave birth... (1 baby).. Did you think of getting a Best Cradle belt? I did a review for it on my channel.. BEST thing ever.. takes the weight of the belly off!! Im sorry to hear about your diagnosis! I would suggest you call a dietitian Im sure they can point you in the right direction for recipes!

  • I had gestational diabetes and was on insulin 3 times a day. Don't worry to much about it, just follow the guide lines. Mine went away after birth and I was shocked considering my sister is an insulin depended. And both my mother and father are diabetic.

  • getting off of sugar is really hard, but it;s possible! it takes about a week to overcome the cravings and that's when you're NOT pregnant. but you can do it! use fruit and maybe agave? not sure about the glycemic index on that... also try date sugar (it's grnd up dates) but all of these need 2 b used in moderation. also try whole wheat pasta... and pray alot!!! You can do it! God Bless!

  • Oh yeah, was going to say...dont just think of exercise as a whole body thing. If you are limited in physical activity upper body exercise is better than none... plus look at it this way, develop those biceps b/c the first off the wall comment hubby makes in the delivery room you can put him on the ground. Oh wait, maybe your hubby isn't like mine...ha ha... nah my hubby made stupid comments before delivery; I got knocked out to deliver... whew! Go to sleep, wake up w/a kid. ha! (totally joking)

  • since it's a "mild" case I think your diet will help control things for you. Additionally, I know it sucks big weenies, but once you start your diet and you detox your body of those carbs and sweets the cravings will subside and it'll be easier to say no to those foods. But like I said--ugh it stinks for those first two weeks. So lots of cursing, lots of tears and lots of anger; but then you're good to go. I have faith in you--YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :) xo

  • diabeticmommy[dot]com looks like it might be a good site for information. But try googling recipes. I did it and I got lots of hits.

  • U look great I love love your belly. Sorry about the GD though I hope it stays mild. I make my own hot chocolate with pure cocoa and light cream cooked on the stove top. It's actually a recipe for low carb hot chocolate. I'm not sure if that would interest you but it's the only thing I can think of.

  • @renator88 oh my god send it to me LOL

  • I was going to say swimming too, it takes the weight off your stomach... But your right there isn't much you can do that late in a twin pregnancy.

  • I'm sorry about the gestational diabetes.

I hope it stays 'mild' ! I hope diet control is enough. Frozen grapes help with sugar cravings. I hope it works, but then I would have murdered someone 4 a cadburys creme egg with Alice's pregnancy.

Aquanatal may be helpful. Just bounce around in a swimming pool for a bit!

Big hugs, & if I was a lesbian I'm sure I'd like you! (jk, pls don't have nightmares! lol)

  • @lumdeedums LMFAO seriously I died laughing I <3 you

  • Hey Hun! Ahhh I'm so sorry, I had mild gestational diabetes with my son. With the whole exercise thing I use to splash around in a pool it also took the weight off my whole body. I was way bigger than you because the gestational diabetes use to make my whole body swell plus I was a really big girl. Even floating moving my arms and legs was increasing my heart rate and took little effort.
