The first four Leaving Trains albums are masterpieces. This is the opening track of the third album ("FUCK") and it was my first exposure to the Trains. Still one of my favourite songs ever, by any artist.
Slight Correction [to looshkin66] The LEAVING TRAINS T-Shirt DID feature an anthropomorphic syringe-person, twiddling away on a flute; However, the followers he'd gathered in lock-step behind him? Far from being the stumbling stoners you recall, were actually idealized, 1950s graphics-type CHILDREN!! That's 100x BETTER!!!
@LeshaAnn I was in the next line up right after the needle guy was on loser illusion part zero. That art work was from an actual government anti drug pamphlet issued in the lat 1950's
Holy ShiT! I remember seeing this video on a local cable tv show in Tucson. On a hopeful whim I punched it in the search and whammy! Damn what a kick ass band! They absolutely deliver the phookin' goods here. thanks for posting.
Whoa, yeah... my band opened for the Trains once or twice in Holland, great guys. James (who seemd pretty messed up at the time, but very nice all the same) got me a cassette tape of the show! He mailed it to me a couple of months after the tour, with a note that he'd 'wanted to send it sooner', but... hey, I thought it was great thet he actually DID send me that tape!
I have no problems with him crossdressing now, why should I? And why should anyome else, for that matter?
Temporal Slut is the actual name of this song, and the Trains still rock! The original line up played a radio gig in LA that was awesome from Well Down Blue Highway and Kill Tunes
does anybody remember the leaving trains t shirt with the giant needle playing a flute like the pied piper and the stoned people stumbling behind????? I wish i knew where to get one now.
@looshkin66 -- Oh, Good Gravy am I glad I scrolled through the comments before typing out my own; I was all set to ask this same EXACT Gorram Question!!! The last time I saw 'em play was in the early '90s (1992??) at The (old) Casbah in San Diego, and they were selling the aforementioned t-shirts at the gig. Like you, I also would give up the gash for one of these INCREDIBLY cool-lookin' artifacts!!!
My favourite band when I was 18." Fuck" is one of the greatest punk rock rec.ever, so raw and genuine , and this one is the only Falling James Moreland I wanna remember, not that pathetic drag queen of the last period.
Long live the Trains! They perfected that 80s L.A. bluesy punk thing...along with friends the Gun Club. Does anybody have video of the song Leaving Trains? This unforgettable bass hooky piece of genius is the band at the height of their powers. The LP with this song, Well Down Blue Highway is genius !
I've gotta agree with you... Well Down Blue Highway is killer. I still spin the vinyl to this day. I was fortunate to see them back in the day...in a friend's living room even.
F***ing Amazing!!! My old band played with these guys in Buffalo about a thousand years ago and they changed my f***ing life! Falling James is my musical f***ing hero!!! Please post more of this stuff. I can't find any video of them anywhere! Please, please, please!! I need MORE!!!!!!!
This song is called Temporal Slut on the Fuck LP.

A great era for music. Falling James and his peers should make anyone feel proud to be a hopeless romantic.
