  • My brother has a 4 month old, and whenever he takes him outside, he rings a bell next to the door first. Now, the dog is starting to ring the bell himself whenever he has to go out, Pretty cool.

  • I'm getting 1 in beginning of feb yay they r lovely dogs and they look easy to train!!

  • If I exercise him alot, can I own a Giant and live in an apartment?

  • i love schnauzer i breed them........

btw i love the way the dog barks and nothing comes out!

  • wow thats so cool im going to teach my schnauzer to do that stuff

  • That's great! I have 2 minis myself. My female does the same thing when we tell her to speak and the male definitely prefers to sit on a rug! I'd like to get a giant when I have a bigger yard.

  • I noticed my Schnauzer and your Schnauzer are similar bcuz they will only lay and sit in carpet. funny

  • LOL i can't see its face. just the tongue and the teeth HAAHHAHA cute dog.

  • Nice giant schnauzer. Check the video response of mine on this video ^^^

  • I have a mini and he never listens like that.

I know hes smart cuz he learn how to use his doggie door at the age of 3months

hes still a puppy but my other one she did everything that she was told at his age.

  • what a handsome dog.

  • most of the Giant Schnauzers are smart depending on blood line and proper core training

  • Who gets a baby sitter for a dog?

  • i thought about getting one of these.. but only with monthly appointments with a hair buzzer... not a poodle hairstyle either.. a complete buzz

  • The animal clearly only cares about treats!

  • im thinking of having one,but i have a question for you stephanie, are the giant schnauzers good apartment dogs ?

    Thank you

  • Schnauzers DO rule and are the coolest dogs !!!

  • you trained him very well; i have a gaint schnauzer she's a very good, dog but she has her little moments when she wants to be stubborn now and don't want to listen but she does if u say 'walkies' haa, but now she getting a older she's more relaxed! but she still has her moments when she has her crazy moments ! :L

i love schnauzers! great temperaments aswell !

but its funny how miniature schnauzers don't like gaint schnauzers :L

  • Schnauzers Rule.

  • circus act, cruel and degrading for the animal, that dog deserves a better owner

  • @thehomefront

Yes giving a WORKING breed a job to stimulate its mind, how horrid it should be just laying around the house all day untrained

Sarcasm if you didn't catch on

  • @Tideshadow why not dress it up and make it walk on its rear legs, would that entertain you more.

  • @thehomefront Were did I ever say it was for my entertainment you idiot. Just because you dont care enough about your own dog to train it doesnt mean people who do are bad owners reflect on yourself before you accuse others

  • @Tideshadow if they were good dog owners they would let it run freely around the park. their not training the dog to stimulate its mind, their training the dog to stimulate their own pathetic mind, if that poor dog as to do all those stupid tricks just to get a treat, then what a said life it must have, i suppose you make your kids act like jesters before their allowed to eat too, its a powerful trip this woman gets off on and her only way of getting it is through children and animals.

  • @thehomefront I suppose you make your kids run around in parks and not send them to SCHOOL. where they could probably pick up a thing or two which you obviously couldn't.

  • @thehomefront

You are an imbecile. The owners clearly care enough about the dog to understand that an intelligent mind such as this needs a lot of stimulus. Get a clue.

  • @thehomefront

You're obviously simply just trying to get a rise out of people with that comment. No one could be that stupid. Everyones falling for it though. GJ lol

  • holy Shit! Nice he's intelligent.

  • I love the woof part the most! Awesoe :)

  • he knows a few tricks

    dogs are natrually smart (sometimes)

  • @Vmanfresh

    People are smart (sometimes).

  • The Schnauzer likes to be active and likes all kinds of forms of play. It is almost impossible to bore a schnauzer, is very strong conditioned and heated when it is absent, but in return calm indoors. It also appreciates the training example in agility or some form of brain exercise(as this video shows).

My family has always had Schnauzers. Right now we have a miniature schnauzer and i LOVE him! :)

    I strongly recommend this breed!

  • @SarenaTrivium no They are just like them. They are a little bit diffrent.

  • I have gotten my four giants that I've had over the years from Skansen Kennels in California and I think her dogs are "great!" This puppy is so well trained and these are very smart dogs.

  • So CUTE! You may have already discussed this, but I am wondering where the owner of this dog purchased him. I am in the Upstate South Carolina area and am having trouble finding Giant breeders here. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

  • @jmsweeney114 cute my ass,your a fool and not a dog lover

  • wow niiice! how did you teach it to spin? the schnauzer looks so happy

  • super cool!!

  • i miss mine! hate being at college

  • The cutiest dear creature I've ever seen

  • i love schnauzers i want one

  • Sorry Sheinbuc....I know this was done in all probablity....innocence?But I think this is totally degrading for the giant schnauzer...and just give cat owners the ammno they need.

  • @downbrownie Sorry, but you dont know what your talkin about. this sort of behavior is what sets them apart from the other dog breeds. for an animal to be able to set aside their "alpha dog instincts" (and any REAL schnauzer owner will know that schnauzers are GOING to be the alpha dog in your family) to do what their told to do is the mark of a remarkable breed. oh and btw....schnauzers are being trained for police dogs...i suppose that that's degrading as well for them. (oh and mine kill cats)

  • @downbrownie totally agree, how can anyone get off on making their dog do stupid circus tricks just to get a tiny treat.

  • that's one of the most well trained dogs i've ever seen.

  • I have two at home : they're are the smartest and the funnier dog I've ever seen !!!

  • my giant schnauzer can't do that :( he can only sit and stay hahaha

  • snife he reminds me of my giant schnauser he was a chocolate coller but he died his name was choco choco teen

  • That dog needs to lay off the treats.

  • You think he's too fat?

  • why in the world did you cut its tail? it's forbidden in many countries in EU. maybe one day also north america will reach that level of civilization.

  • Barney is my dog. We did not cut his tail. This was done by the breeder, so we had no say in it. I agree that cutting the tail, cropping the ears are cruel.

  • :)))

  • good job!!!!

  • beautiful i just got one today =)

  • Oh you are in for quite an adventure!!

  • OMG He is so cute! I have a giant schnauzer named Shelby :)

  • wow that's impressive

    I'm gettint a Giant Schnauzer too :)

  • Awesome! I can see you did well with your Giant Schnauzer's training. I have a mini & I want to get a giant sometime. I lover the schnauzer temperament overall. Thanks for sharing

  • Schnauzer and smart, ar synonym words :). I had one similar with this one, unfortunately died 2 days ago :(. He was 12 years old at that moment, but except some white hair, you can't see any difference between this one and mine. They are never getting "old" ..like other dogs. They love to play all the time.

  • I love dogs and want to babysit them too

  • :))))

  • I have one named max who looks just like that one. He's so cute!

  • Nicely trained dog, I want one!

  • i want a giant .. omg we 7 minis lol they are awsome, each one ahas a different personality .. and they all have such good temperments

  • i hav a giant/airedale, hes so cute!

  • How do you get it to turn around?

  • It's actually fairly simple. Learning the 'touch' command (i.e. having them 'touch' or nose your hand when you say 'touch') works well, and then using it in a circle. Or simply get the to spin around and say 'spin' or whatever you like to let them know that that action means to spin around and that they get awarded when it happens.

  • That was one of the easiest things to teach him. Just hold a small treat & make him follow the treat around in a circle. Then praise him like crazy & reward with the treat. We did this a few times a day for less than a week. Then he recognized the simple circular motion of my hand in front of him & he started turning on his own.

  • Sorry everyone, this is my first time commenting on youtube & I thought my comments would post under people's questions, which they obviously didn't. So it just looks like a bunch of random thoughts. Barney is my dog, and sheinbuc was his dogsitter when she took the video. I'm biased but I think it's precious!

  • hey wher'd you get bernie??? We think we have his sister.

  • We got Barney in Tennessee from a giant breeder.

  • how do u get it to bark on command?

  • is that giant? my cousin has a rizen schnauzer that is even bigger than me and he's strong!

  • riesen means giant in german

  • reise means giant

  • riesig means giant, pronounced either REEs-ig or REEs-ish depending on the N/S pronunciation.

  • They do get big when they are pure bred GERMAN giant schnauzers (reichenschnauzer, or however it is spelled is the same thing... it's all about bloodlines.) for 8 years (whom we had lost due to epilepsy complications) I had a big boy named Tucker who was almost 28in. give or take at the shoulder and 115lbs at his heaviest!

  • does this breeds hair grow long?

  • Yes it will grow long but we cut it about every 8 weeks or so.

  • that dog is so cute i want one so bad!!!

  • where did u get the dog

  • the woof part is so cute!

  • why can't he bark?

  • He can bark. haha We actually taught him to bark at different noise levels. low, medium, and high. He's just not being given the command for that in this video.

  • My schnauzer used to ignore my commands when he was alive, but obey when i commanded him in german... So weird

  • extremely

  • Maybe he preferred the harder language to be taught with. Pinscher- breeds really enjoy being raised that way....

Well, after you realise 'schnauzer' comes from Germany/Austria it's not hard to realise why ...

  • What a cool video! Thanks for posting

Schnauzers are the best... no matter the size!

  • really impressive..congrats...

    i have a giant...but only 3 months old..:)

maybe u can give me some informations about how do u teach him so well..^^

  • I recommend looking for local training classes in your area where you can bring your dog with you. Mostly they train you. The dog is the easy part!

  • How precious! You've done a great job training your dog. Congratulations!

  • Wish I would've taken the time to REALLY train my Mini Schnauzer. All I taught him was "Speak".

  • hahah not a hard thing for a mini schnauzer to learn :-P

  • Nope now there's times I can't get him to shut up.

  • lol if i mine was so cute i would have gone crazy years ago!! lol

  • lol

  • OMG that is the cutest thing i've seen. I have a solid white mini and he's 7 months old and, he's only in it for the treat. He sits, gives his paw and rolls over but if i put those treats on his paws, they would have been GONE. I really wanted a giant. He's adorable!

  • Aww!!

    So smart!!

    My dog is dumb! lol

I wish my dog was that smart!

    :D
