  • @TheEvilflea Ok I am going in for the kill

  • playback again!! (só rola playback!!)

  • I love this song. Great vocal from Kurt. RIP Felix.

  • @imugly678 I thought this was a classier song than one eliciting such filth (I'm smiling as I type this though).

  • @cyprixx lol! this song makes me wanna get down and dirty

  • @imugly678 ok me too....

  • Love you Double!! RIP, FELIX!! your music it great!!!

  • I love song but not the singer...randy crawford sang much better

  • That must be Andy Flower on drums

  • Like the song but lived through this era, and I am sure this is a Milli Vanilli Concert. It was widely known that artist were only as good as their producers, which meant the studio was responsible for the voice and music, not the "Artist". Saturday Night Live exposed this quite clearly in 2010. "Live" is referred to as a version of the same song, but with a personal touch. SUCKERS!!!

  • @TheMystercee ---I'm REALLY SHOCKED by the vid, because we may all believe it to be a Milli Vanilli, but..Ifff they were lipsync'n could they do it this good..I mean instruments were played live..unlike Vanilli.., Vocals were almost spot on.. Eitherway..They were pros.. Pro Fake, or Pro real..This vid show that they knew what they were doing eitherway. Let them contact me and I'll send you the info..

  • @uoyebutbackwords this was like a german totp, which other acts appear as well , nothing wrong with being asked to do that

  • Michael Bublé, eat your heart out !!!

  • super song for the best decade for music the fabulous 80's never to be repeated. The piano is the key instrument in this wonderful music song.

  • super song for the best decade for music the fabulous 80's never to be repeated

  • Another great song from the 80s. god what happened to music.

  • STILL A TUNE WITH STRONG EMOTIONS OF PASSION AFTER ALL THESE YEARS ! A REAL WORK OF ART.

  • So many great memories brought back by this song!

  • This song is a work of art. There is genius behind these simple chords.

    Wow.

  • I still listen to both the albums on cassette, over and over again... this music calms me when i want to kill someone for being dumb

  • WHERE ARE YOU PEOPLE OF DOUBLE NOW A DAYS?!

    I NEVER FORGET!

    TENDER!

  • I love the song, but "Live"? Really?? I'm thinking we just watched a little Milli Vanilli action.

  • wow que musica arriba double.

  • que musica tan bonito.arriba double.

  • RIP, Felix.

  • rubbish

  • Truly a timeless classic. A beautiful drifting, jazzy offering for the ages. My only problem with it has always been that I didn't write it! Yeah, forget what era it came out, with this song it truly didn't matter. This would have made it in the 60s or 70s or today just as easily as the 80s.

Thanks for sharing, clearly they're just as good live!

  • Lip Synced

  • and the guitar for what???

  • instrumental of this song is delicious!

  • Love it!

  • @santamara

Haven't heard this in ages, great share santamara!!

  • Ruediger Braune am Schlagzeug...ich fasse es nicht...gruess dich Kurt, fantastisches Lied, Zeitlos...

  • let;s not get to emotional

  • Always reminds of the piano bar in Baden-Baden in the 80's. Ah good memories.

  • Bravo!!!Super!!!Love this song!!!Elsker dette!Fra Norge!

  • very beautiful and haunting melody

  • Timeless.....it was perfect in 1985, and its perfect in 2010! If this song were released THIS year, Kurt would be considered with Koz, Buble, Kenny G?? Any opionions?

  • @mrdave777 I agree! :D

  • love the subtle bossa guitar...

  • Very under rated song.. love it.. brings back mems of the good ol days..

  • wow.... i love this song

  • Great song - fantastic voice

  • In the music video, and in this one, and i realize it's lip synched, but has anyone ever heard Felix on a record? If you have fill me in on what one it is. Never understood why the camera shot to him when the lyrics "She Tried So Hard To Keep" were sung. Still literally one of the best songs written and recorded...ever.

  • great fucking song despite the lip synche

  • I did'nt know Mr. Big from Sex in the City was the lead singer of Double! :0)

  • They lip-synched it.

  • Great Song...........Beautiful, sexy, exotic song......one of my all time favorites......after I first heard it when it came out..........I immediately bought the cassette..........

  • you have superb taste my friend!!! love this tune everytime I hear it! great vocals and love the instrumentation also.

  • exlente desde cordoba argentina!!!

  • suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a sexy song. But this "performance" is not "live"....it's the record playing.

  • Lip sync galore! I don't get it, why can't they play it live?? Takes all the magic away from the performance.

  • This show used to host over 30 guest stars and each act was allowed to play 1 or 2 songs. It was on every year in the 80s around Christmas time. Technically it was simply not possible to let the 30 guests play live with their own band.

  • This song came out at the right time and hit it perfect 100% !

  • I listen to this and ache for times gone by. Why is youth wasted on the young!

  • I always thought that Boz Scaggs sang this song,

  • be sure to listen to another classic, Rangoon Moon, simply wonderful.. the day back in 85 when I heard these songs for the first time I was swept away by the simplicity and beautiful melodies, ahhh...

  • Playback detected...

Love Captain of her Heart though

  • Everything felt so blue in these imageries, not to mention the bluesy voice.

  • ba bow ba bow ba bow, ba ba bap bap ba the captain of her heart.

what a classic tune, transports me back to the mid 80s.

  • Sounds too much like the recording. Appears to be lip synched.

  • How the fuck can you like nirvana and garbage like tpain what let me guess your a teen

  • Yeah, I was joking, thought it was obvious. Guess I shouldn't overestimate folks' intelligence...

  • pappydickass, poppydinkmydickduck look out lickeysplit doshit splitmyasspappydickdosuckmommy do done do did what you did?????

  • easy there slim shady

  • The piano & horn are classic & his voice is perfect...thanks for posting this wonderful song!

  • there will never be music like this again. A by gone era. It was about the music and the voice not about image..

  • this song is majestic however if this video is reflective of their concerts - I would have asked for my money back -boring!

  • This was an era when music was beautiful and nice on the ears. unlike the crap we hear today.................

  • Hey guys and girls this DOUBLES song is simple one of the masterpieces from the 80S music thank to GOD I enjoyed this MUSIC ERA.

  • the best age end the best music of ever!!!!

  • hey when i listen this song i close my eyes and enjoy the moment is so beautifull song... what r u say guys??

  • Lindissima música bring me back so many memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Right. The sound qualitat is superb.

  • El sonido de la canciòn es espectacular..

  • That's such a beautiful song. Thank you .

  • Dunno whatever happened to them. When I first heard them, back in the late 80s, I felt that finally here was something I could live with...... I never came across a send album and it makes me feel so sad, and everytime I listen to their album I get a bunch of mixed feelings.

  • Love this group and the sound that emanates from their gifted talents. Very sexy and seductive. A classic from the 80's and one in which is a favorite to millions. Thanks for posting it and really enjoyed the video.

  • Great. Thanks so much for the memory

  • Que genialidad de cancion, excelente el video que buscaba hace tiempo

  • Tbilisi boys an gerls were fascinated by this song

  • you eating my ass?

  • omg...

  • definitely one of the most underrated songs of the 80s.

  • @kronikels1

Why? In 1985 this song was very very famous a succesfull all around the world. I can remember it very well, I was 17 and pop music was the most important thing in my teenage. Pity that Kurt could not write another masterpiece. David

  • FANTASTIC

  • Every time i here this song it brings me back to 1986 .Still love this song .best smooth Jase song of all time .

  • This isn't just an 80s song, it is a timeless masterpiece full of feeling and deeply moving.

All the instruments (ok except drums) are played with subtlety and feeling. The sax, the singing, the guitar, and ESPECIALLY the piano. Such simply notes and chords so evocative of feeling they bring tears from this piano.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself. Dead on.

  • this song hit the right key,and has to be one of my favorite songs of the 80s,not to mention my fav of theres.

  • GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • unrequited love. well done ... classic.

  • This is the radio version, its not live or a re-recorded backing track as stated below, this was very common in the 80's, like on Sold Gold and other such music shows.

  • this music it is one of my favorit

but one think i have to say:

THIS IS NOT ALIVE, THIS IS PLAYBACK!!!!!

    why they do thay????

  • You are dead on, this was lip synced.........

  • Is the background music at this concert, played on a track? Because they playing this to the T. :)

Very cool! Sounds just like the track.

  • its a beautiful and very well performed song...I wonder where the video is that I used to see on VHS1...There was a woman on a ship, at sea, looking for the captain of her heart. It was very pretty!

    Anyone else see it?!

    GSN

  • Kurt Maloo has such a beautifly soothing voice.

  • I wonder if she is still waiting for me, in Mombasa.

  • She´s not because she´s banging someone else

  • shes banging me while thinking of you thinking of berlinbunker.

  • lol!!!!!!

  • Great song. Anyone heard the new version?

Also great, but jazzier. It's on album Loopy Avenue.

  • OMG. The new version of the song sounds very CHILL. It's great!

  • As much as I'd like to believe that they weren't, they have to be lip syncing here. The only thing that sounds different from the studio version is the clapping. :-(

  • Hi..

What actually happened: Any group appearing on TV had to 'prove' they could actually perform so were given a few hours recording time at Maida Vale or similar to bring the song under 4min30 usually- Then they mimed to their own re-recorded backing track. This is what caught out Frankie as Trevor Horn overproduced Relax so they could not reproduce the 'released' version 'live' (see Milli Vannili also..)! Take it easy

  • yo this was the shit back then!!! nvr knew who it was

  • didnt Boz Scaggs do this song?

  • STOP Clapping!!!!!!!1

  • This is a great song!!

  • I love this song.

  • Helluva song. This should be on every light and easy playlist on the radio.

  • Kurt and Felix, where the hell are you guys at???we need more great music like this,i love this song......

  • Kurt is doing solo stuff at the mo', he has a myspace page, and Felix?

    Well its Felix RIP sadly...

  • which one is felix please

  • the pianist

  • thanks :)

  • It's a saxaphone.

  • I think you mean "saxophone," right? :)

  • @BDMann69 It is a soprano sax.

  • That some damn good synching though.

They make an effort, the cheesy bloke on the old piano looks well believable.

and the bloke on the clarinet(is it a clarinet? i think it is) is doing a good turn.

    Well done i say.

  • OH NO!!

    Someone lipsynched a song?

    No way!

Pffft, like double are the only band to have synched a song.

Imagine it though, having to perform the SAME song over and over and over, on any number of godforsaken chat shows, kids shows and various other televisual mediums.

fuck me id synch after a while, to save my voice if nothing else.

What a lush little tune tho!

  • this is a live soudtrack - its too tight

and i know the single so well.

shame on you Double..and they clapped

  • Es una canción maravillosa...

  • Maravilloso este tema musical,me relaja mucho desde que lo escuché en 1986...hasta ahora.

  • Este es un video que me gusta mucho, desde 1986que salió,es muy hermoso.

  • A longtime favorite...it doesn't matter to me whether they were synching it or not. Sublime. (R.I.P. Felix.)

  • I am certainly appreciative of your posting, Survivor2002. I was not aware that Felix had died!

  • Absolut phantastischer Song.So lang ist´s schon her und immer noch super.Zeitlos.....wo sind die 80er bloß geblieben?

  • Couldn't they have just actually played the song and not just mimed to a track? What a disappointment, again, as usual.

  • Apparently miming guarantees good sound quality on a TV show.than a live performance. They've been doing that forever. I guess we just have to look for a youtube clip of a live performance,,,

  • It was way past midnight and she still couldn't fall asleep. This night the dream was leaving she tried so hard to keep. And with the new day's morning she felt it drift away. Not only for a cruise, not only for a day. Too long ago, too long apart she could not wait another day for the captain of her heart. As the day came up, she made a stop. She stopped waiting another day for the captain of her heart. Too long ago, too long apart she could not wait another day for the captain of her heart.
  • This is one of my all time favorites. I will have to agree the recorded session IS live but the audio is dubbed in and processed. I am slowly learning it on piano. Its worth the effort playing. Wish they had more music like this since. This is what is considered "feel good music"

  • love this one,my favoutite!

  • ...playback!

Mas é um grande música, claro!

  • As mentioned before, this is definitely playback.

  • love the way the dancer girl behind Kurt is dancing .....coooooolllll ;o)

  • I totally agree with you =)

  • super!!!! respect!!!! best!!!!

  • he looks like alec baldwin

  • it`s not fucking live. pricks

  • Definitely one of the best songs I have ever herd.

  • this song goes way back in my high school year of [1985]memories!!!!!!!

  • Este es un tema que siempre me ha elevado seran los acordes o la melodia o el ritmo, en fin es mi tema preferido

  • KUMALOO YOU ARE THE BEST

  • IT's one of my favorites from not only the 80's but in general os I could listen to it in whatever mood am in and superb pieces like this are perfect creations to fly me back to times that will never happen again.Thank You so much. You made me very happy with this live version but whta is the show called???Thanks!!

  • The show is called "Peter's Popshow" extra in German TV ZDF - Year 1985

  • I remember this... what an excellent performance... this is one great cool song!

  • Mimed unfortunately, would've liked to have seen him actually sing this live

  • He looks like a cross between Tom Cruise and Chris Noth from Sex and the City

  • ... and a touch of Baldwin

  • A radio prog use to play this for my fella and I late nights when we were apart ...never tire of listening to it !

  • A radio programme used to play this for my fella and I when we were apart .... never tire of listening to it !

  • Man, this is without any doubt, one of the FINEST tunes of ALL-TIME, regardless of genre or class of music. Simply a very well composed work of art, with great instrumentation and such soothing and emotional lyrics. Wow. This tune has made Double an icon and one which will live on for eternity. And with the new day dawning, oh yeah, right on!!!!!!!
