The truth is that webb was informed (by mccain, williams, ect) that legislation forcing the Navy to open more billets to women would be forthcoming if the action was not taken independently. Yeah, hypocritical Allen owns stock in the Morning After Pill, which he claims to be against, AND he took about $800,000, I heard it reported, from oil companies. All that and racism too! I manned the phones one night for Webb and spoke to a likely voter who, when asked which issue matters most, Iraq, education or the economy, said, "The main issue is, Allen is a jerk!" Agreed.

The book is called "Born Fighting: How the Scots-Irish Shaped America." You can find it at Amazon. It's *very* good. I strongly suggest y'all buy it. It's certainly not the work of someone who'd rather hang out with Hollywood moguls than go to the Breaks. But it is a statement of real ethnic pride rather than racism.
