  • Congressman Ryan if you want to help small business as you say then pass the presidents jobs bill and stop playing games. Thanks.

  • HOLY COW - Paul Ryan!!!

  • I found this by searching for " whats this cow im chasing". Lol=D

  • too bad we dont have a congress full of people just like him

  • This person doesn't understand the issues that we are facing. I feel, he does not understand, what social reform is needed. I feel he speaks; as if he understands and cares. but they are only hollow words. I feel ashamed that I share a surname with this person. I have many theories and solutions to our problems. we must get away from supply-side economics.

  • Flat Tax so we all can feel the pain....

  • P: Ron Paul and VP: Paul Ryan 2012

  • Not only cut spending but reform taxation. With all of that "I propose" being carelessly thrown around tonight, Obama should have proposed a flat tax. The rich would have more money to spend from this and so they would invest in companies and spend their extra money on commodities. The middle class would take the money spent by the upper class and then use it to employ the lower class. Everybody wins, everybody has a job, and everybody is making money. That is what should happen.

  • Wow finally someone in politics to be excited about. I hope he does run for President. He tells it like it is! You couldn't run your home budget like our govt. has for so many yrs. It's time to get serious and do the hard stuff to get us finally back on track before China owns all of our country. Go get em Congressman Ryan!

  • Typical leftist ivory tower elitist convoluted argument against simple common sense. The best answer is usually the simplest. We do not have a tax problem that the Progressives would solve by raising taxes but the Laffer curves proves that income would go down so their next solution is to print more money but that will cause inflation. Here is a novel idea cut spending I know it is to simple and it is what most households due to avoid bankruptcy.

  • What part will people cut? Tell me? 80% of it is Defense, Social Security, Unemployment/Welfare, Medicare/Medicaid, and interest on the debt.

  • CUT SPENDING! CUT SPENDING! what the fuck are the republicans going to cut? all I hear is how the republicans want to cut spending, but they don't have any proposals. republicans and the tea party should stop bitching and start presenting ideas, because they're full of shit. I'm glad they have the house, because america will suffer and get what they asked for.

  • @prodigee411

Republicans don’t have any proposals??? Sweet heart look at Paul Ryan’s "Road map to America" A complete precise easily defined proposal to cut spending. I can think of one thing off the top of my head to cut... 2 Million a DAY... so 10 M in total For Barack Hussein Obama to leave the country 2 M a day for him to rudely leave the united states after election. Does he really need to stay in the Taj Mahal? And rent all 500 rooms?? He's living like a king and we're paying for it.

  • @missykrissyb13 I looked through the entire pdf and I don't see any legitimate projection on how much each proposal will affect the deficit. Essentially he states, "let's privatize social security, let's make health care competitive, let's cut from the education dept.," but there aren't any NUMBERS. Please provide some numbers and actually read the document. And I know you love saying "barack hussein obama" because deep inside you are racist. The usual Middle America, white republican.

  • @prodigee411

If you had read the pdf in full you would have seen the numbers & senarios layed out in the text. Yes it says what should be done and it also gives figures & budgets IN THE TEXT. Darlin I like saying Barack Husein Obama bc its his name. So that mean his name is racist? You know nothing about me I am not White Im AMERICAN but if you want to get technical I am of hispanic, Indian, & white decent. My family is made up of diverse races I am not racist I dont like being lied to.

  • @missykrissyb13 and if I'm analyzing this table correctly, the plan would essentially take 50 years just to achieve a neutral budget(no surplus or deficit). We don't have 50 years of time.

  • @prodigee411

50 projected years to achieve a NEUTRAL budget all the while decreasing the debt no it will not be quick but it will be efficient. It’s not the ideal quick plan we all want but it’s allot better than a stimulus that is selling us to China.

  • @missykrissyb13 the chinese are already diversifying out of u.s. dollars and debt, WE DO NOT HAVE 50 YEARS. Chinese government bond default swaps are nearly equal to U.S. bond swaps, which means the world is perceiving chinese debt as safe as, u.s. debt. In reality, this country has 10-15 yrs. AT BEST to make substantial changes.

  • @missykrissyb13 there's no policy that is going to pull us out of this maelstrom.

  • @prodigee411 Agreed. More government is not the answer. As long as government and business are synonymous (i.e. there is no separation of state and economics) the snake will eat its tail. The system will fail. Obama almost woke us up, but people are just not ready, they don't know what "change" they need. Hope and faith are empty for those suffering true injustice- systems that leech off the good in every man, and destroy progress in the name of progress. We need to learn from history.

  • @prodigee411 We're already suffering, because of both parties. They're all welfare statists. I am not a Republican (although I am all for a republic), so I don't know what they'll pull. At least some (Ryan) don't overtly attack us (Obama.) Conservativism cannot last, and proressivism will not simply because it is precisely retrogressive and ancient.

So many factors effect us-it's so cruel to pull any welfare program. It's hard to get out of a vortex. But it's worth trying.

  • let's see him actually get it done! all these bastards talk about spending cuts but they never actually do anything. or they keep the spending the same and then cut taxes creating a shortfall in revenue and increasing the debt to China

  • @Unclesamslair

oh yeah they dont do anything look at obama "change! I will make more jobs what has he done?"... spent our money news flash OBAMA was the one that pretty much sold us to china.. get it right before you bitch.. If you listen to Mr. Ryan he has clear cut precise ways to cut spending.. Obamas way well we could do something like this to cut spendin blah blah blah its all Bush's fault... no clear cut ways to do what he says... its all talk no facts. GO PAUL RYAN!!! Whoo Rah!

  • @missykrissyb13 when the fuck did I ever say Obama was any better? They're all incompetent politicians who are to scared of not pleasing their voters that they can never get anything done right. Obama hasn't done shit, I NEVER SAID HE DID. Sure Paul Ryan has ideas for cutting the budget, but they either fall short of actually putting a dent on our debt or they are far too unpopular to be politically viable. He knows this so he just spouts his mouth off to win points with his constituency.

  • @missykrissyb13 CUT SPENDING!

  • Unclelight, so you are saying the Republicans are the sole source of the troubles we have right now? I think they both share plenty of blame and only want to get back to the basics of work hard, pay taxes, expect no free ride. Can we agree on this?

  • It's refreshing to see someone like this in Washington- Republican's need to stand on principle- the principle of individual rights. That was the purpose of this Republic, to protect those rights, and that is worth fighting for.

The individuals of this country should embrace real Republicans like this man. People who will fight for the change we need, not abuse the dissatisfaction of a neo-conservative statist to push through anti-progress, hard left statist policies.

  • @lucentenor CUT SPENDING!

  • And one more thing-these niggers only want tax cuts for the wealthy!

  • But it's true-he votes with the other niggers (right wing) on everything! These niggers say one thing then do the opposite! Notice they never take the blame for anything and it was the last administration that fucked up this country! America deserves better!

  • Ryan is the right wings nigger!

  • Wow, that's insightful...

  • I don't even know what that means.

  • Low taxes, meeting our obligations to the elderly, and a balanced budget are contradictory. (And yes, when American's go out and build too many houses and claim they're worth more than they are worth, they are essentially creating an inflation.) When the bubble pops HUGE deflation. Trillions of dollars literally disappeared into thin air. That's money which could have been put towards desperately needed infrastructure with tax money.

  • You contradict yourself. So we just keep racking up debt. There's a game plan.

  • Ryan for President!

  • I agree, he really sees the economic realities which sadly so many others dont.

Its like they just dont get it, economic reality and good judgements rules the roost folks, not political might and popularity lip service.

  • Does that point come only after most of America's businesses have gone under, most of America is bankrupt and the dollar is worth less than the Zaire? Sure, the economy will fix itself but its so far gone now that it may mean an economy crippled beyond comprehension. It's unfortunate previous administrations have abused the budget to the deficit we are in now but you cant deal with both the deficit and the recession at the same time.

  • Here's the point, which of those business should stay afloat? The ones that have play way too fast and loose and now are being rewarded for it? Seems now the ones that go under are the ones that have political ties to the Democrats. Wake up and smell the coffee. These bailouts are rewarding companies for being stupid.

  • The only way to do that is to increase confidence by giving them jobs and keeping businesses afloat. I agree higher taxes are counter productive as well. The Government should find the funds somewhere else but the bottom line is you NEED government spending to fix a recession of this magnitude. a complete hands off approach might work in a smaller recession but the situation is extremely dire. Though it would eventually reach equilibrium again, the question is where is that point?

  • Total Keynesian misunderstanding of economics. Hazlitt, Friedman, et al tackle this directly, but it's pretty simple, in essence: from who's money does one "give jobs" and "keep businesses aloat"? Simple: from the successful, which now start to fail. Repeat.

No country has been able to spend their way out of debt. Everytime the government artificially injects into the economy, it just makes the next, eventual collapse more catastrophic. This is exactly what happened during the Depression.

  • This is basic economics. In times of recession, you increase government spending to stimulate the economy. Lowering taxes puts more money in the pockets of Americans which in turn goes straight into their savings accounts or to the debt they've accrued. What will happen is exactly what people did with Bush's stimulus package and the money will never see a store counter. This is counter productive. You need these people to invest in businesses and buy shit.

  • Keyenesian economics. Lets be clear. The kind of spending the government is doing now would made Keynes blush. Read off of it instead of your revisionist cherry picking, which the left loves to do. Deficit spending that you can pay back quickly.

  • government spending is needed to stimulate the economy in a time when banks are afraid of lending to each other. Without properly guided government spending household consumption and investment spending stays down. Thus, the economy stagnates as people scramble to save more, pulling money out of the economy and worsening the situation. As a government you spend more in a recession and spend less in times of prosperity. If the economy is left to "fix" itself who knows how long that will take.

  • So how would that work for the rest of us? In hard economic times, do we spend and borrow when we're already deep in the whole with debt? Government would be in the same boat we'd be in: bankruptcy. You mention people spending less in hard times, do you think they are enticed to spend more with higher taxes or lower ones? When the government spends like crazy, where do they go to get their money? The citizens of America, through higher taxes. Cutting taxes will increase confidence to spend more.

  • This is nonsense, if Reagonomics is trickledown, this explanation of borrow and spend to stimulate the economy is voodoo economics... It's like going to the witch dr, he sprinkled dust on you and you go, "Oh I'm healed"... It's nonsense... We need to go from a consumption based economy to a production based economy... We got here from fiscal implosion under bush... The answer isn't more of the same... Sometimes medicine tastes bad, but we don't need to shoot up with more heroin...

  • Remember the last time we cut taxes and tried to balance the budget during a recession? That was 1929 wasn't it?

  • Umm no. Back in 1929, Hoover RAISED taxes which caused even more instability. Kind of like what Carter did in the '70's, and what Obama is doing now.

  • Corrections SYKE... He raised taxes on everyone and cut spending - thus removing money supply from the economy. Do you ever wonder why the people don't have money, the government doesn't have money, and the banks don't have money? It's cause last year, trillions of dollars boiled into thin air when money being backed by houses all the sudden became worth a quarter of what they were originally priced and sold at. The borrowing and spending is gov making up for the money that just dissappeared.

  • lol It's like Ron Paul 2.0.

  • Obama said he wouldn't sign anything with pork. Yeah right. That was a pretty good joke. We should kick Osama out, and put Ryan in.

  • ya that would be def. be a dream come true

  • there were a whole bunch of people on 20/20 once that all agreed that the economy would fix itself faster without the stimulus package. too many people like him though.

  • Paul Ryan you need to get the word out more coming Monday.

  • Mr. Ryan, you are my hero

  • Comment removed

  • tell that to the frauds in your party who LOVE their unfair share of pork.

  • Thank you Mr Ryan, your efforts are appreciated. Please keep up the fight.

  • Thank you, someone saying we need to decrease spending. Those guys in washington steal our money for wasteful programs. More common sense, thank you!
