@DigitalPirateReeses I'm Italian so I had SUPER CURLY HAIR when I had longer hair but I have almost a pixie cut and it's super straight and I only sometimes have to straighten it. just make sure not to get it cut to short so if you need to straighten it you can.

I have been going back and forth for a long time now whether or not to cut all my hair off. My hair right now is down to my belly button, and I grew my hair out for the soul reason of donating it to Locks Of Love. I have layers and my hair is down to my mid-back at the longest and to just below my chin at the shortest and I have side bangs. my hair is really thick and it gets greasy very easily and it is a bit wavy. I want to cut it short but since it is so thick, every time I cut it shorter than my shoulders, it gets frizzy and puffy. I have never tried cutting it shorter than my shoulders. I have cut my hair (super crazy short) 3 times, and I have kept it that length for at least a year each time in my 14 years of life. I have become bored with it though and am currently growing my hair out. I agree, short hair is pretty stellar, but it looks a little stupid when playing sports.
I cut mine into a pixie cut today :D The longer hair (bob) was driving me nuts so now it's about a couple inches long with bangs and I can mess it up :) It looks cuter with my glasses too.
@owlsongs I think I will keep it this length from now on :) So much easier to take care of. No more knots in the hair, no more hair getting in my face. Much better :P
Is your hair thick? My parenst have agreed that it is my hair and I can do what I want with it and I really want to go pixie, my hair is currently just past my jaw, but my mom and the stylist always remind me that my hair is thick so it will fall differently. @GreenToOrange no way! i have SUPER thick hair and it lays down perfectly. Just don't expect it to look perfect and walk outside material when you wake up lolz

Lovely. Regarding gender and hairstyles, it all cultural! When is the last time you heard someone say, HE looks bad with short hair, HE can't wear his hair short with that face shape, HE needs long hair to frame his square cheekbones. Ridiculous, right? I had a girl friend who used to say, "guys are better looking than women" her reason? All guys can pull off short haircuts, but not all women can. What silly notion. It's going against the stereotypical culture that takes confidence ladies.
I got a a pixie cut today and I love it! I had my hair so long then i cut it to my shoulders but then when i sleep it feels so oily! But when I got it cut again *today lol* it feels so good! It feels refreshing! :D

u know u said that u cut your hair that short every five years or so, well can u tel me how long it took for u to grow your hair to your elbows (if u ever grew it that long)
@MsOctoberstorm I didn't grow it out that long before I cut it last month, but it took me a year to get it back to my shoulders. So I would say maybe 6 more months after that? It's hard to say because everyone's hair grows differently and mine seems to be particularly slow unless it's short, so it just depends

@XXhuddy23XX they don't accept bleach or colored hair... i had dyed my hair red (as you can see in this video) and I sent it in but I never got my certificate so I don't think they accepted it.
It does take a long time to grow back, that is definitely a con... but honestly once you do it you won't want to go back for a while! :)
I really want to do it, I think it would look good on me. But, I wanna wait until high school. Kids in middle school are way too judgmental. But I'm excited for next summer, I'm cutting it all off :)

@medislamara thank you! i didn't do it myself, i've had the same stylist for like 5 years and she's seen me through all of my hairstyles... i'd recommend printing out pictures that you like and taking them to a stylist... also you might have to spend a little bit more money the first time just to make sure it looks good.

Getting a pixie cut was the best decision I have ever made hair-wise. It takes me five minutes at the most to dry and style it, and I never have to worry about it getting messed up because it looks cutest when it's messy :). I feel so much sexier than I ever did with long hair because now my eyes, lips and smile pop without that annoying sheet of hair covering everything up. Guys who hate short hair on girls are not worth any lady's time!!

Let me tell you: For me it is much work. When I get up I look like a groom. I have wavy hair so i must always blowdry and straighten to make it look okay. I need to use gel to not look like a 40-year-old. And I always need make-up and jewellery to not look like a boy. But I still love it ^^ It looks awesome

i'm a boy, and im totally fascinated with girls with short hair, dont know why but i have a theory. I feel like girls hide a little bit under long hair, like wearing dark glasses or something, but when a girl has it short, i can totally see her eyes and her face, her smile, etc.....plus it just looks sexy, but i prefer it on skinny girls.
I've always had long hair(at least to my shoulders) because I wasn't allowed to cut my hair when I was younger. Well, about two weeks ago, I went into the salon, and told them to chop it all off. They were amazed that I wanted to get a pixie. So far I love it, (the drying time is the best!) even my mom thinks it's cute. :) It's brought a lot of confidence as well, and I can do more with it now.
Turning superficial guys off with my haircut is definitely a pro. I'm not interested in the type of guys who are intimidated by short hair on a girl :) I don't want attention from them. My hair acts as a sort of filter now, only attracting men who are secure in their masculinity and like strong, unique women. What girl wouldn't want that?

My ex boyfriend forbade me from colouring my hair and cutting it, he wanted long brown hair. thats when I ditched him and realized he's an extremely superficial prick...I'm not like that at all. i'm won over! conviently, there seems to be a tutorial on how to cut it in the suggestions, i think... anyways, i like your thinking! i hate doing anything to my hair and it's really thick and difficult to manage.

Lovely. Regarding gender and hairstyles, it all cultural! When is the last time you heard someone say, HE looks bad with short hair, HE can't wear his hair short with that face shape, HE needs long hair to frame his square cheekbones. Ridiculous, right? I had a girl friend who used to say, "guys are better looking than women" her reason? All guys can pull off short haircuts, but not all women can. What silly notion. It's going against the stereotypical culture that takes confidence ladies.

I got a a pixie cut today and I love it! I had my hair so long then i cut it to my shoulders but then when i sleep it feels so oily! But when I got it cut again *today lol* it feels so good! It feels refreshing! :D

@MsOctoberstorm I didn't grow it out that long before I cut it last month, but it took me a year to get it back to my shoulders. So I would say maybe 6 more months after that? It's hard to say because everyone's hair grows differently and mine seems to be particularly slow unless it's short, so it just depends

@XXhuddy23XX they don't accept bleach or colored hair... i had dyed my hair red (as you can see in this video) and I sent it in but I never got my certificate so I don't think they accepted it.
It does take a long time to grow back, that is definitely a con... but honestly once you do it you won't want to go back for a while! :)

I really want to do it, I think it would look good on me. But, I wanna wait until high school. Kids in middle school are way too judgmental. But I'm excited for next summer, I'm cutting it all off :)

I've never liked my hair long, it annoys me and it feels heavy. I just got it cut to chin length a few days ago but I think I want to get it cut shorter.

@medislamara thank you! i didn't do it myself, i've had the same stylist for like 5 years and she's seen me through all of my hairstyles... i'd recommend printing out pictures that you like and taking them to a stylist... also you might have to spend a little bit more money the first time just to make sure it looks good.

Thank you So much... I recently got a pixie haircut not thinking I had much to loose since my hair will grow back... Immediately after, everyone I knew was shocked because of my "confidence" ( ? ) and worried whether or not I was happy or disappointed I was no longer as attractive. They even speculated that I looked like a boy from the back. I love my short hair and I'm glad you also embrace it..

I am getting a pixie cut ! I was going to shave my head bald because my mom passed away from cancer, but I'm only 13, and people are very judgmental in 7th grade and I didn't need that on top of everything else, so I am saving that for later :P But from the hair I do have, I am donating the rest :)

I actually got into an argument with one of my friends friend saying that all men hate short hair on women and that I should listen to him because he is a man. I have VERY short hair (shorter than pixie and naturally curly) and he assumes because he isnt attracted to me other men wont be. He said he will never allow his spouse to cut her hair off. Give me a break, Ive gotten more men now with my short curly hair then when I had long, straightened hair.

Getting a pixie cut was the best decision I have ever made hair-wise. It takes me five minutes at the most to dry and style it, and I never have to worry about it getting messed up because it looks cutest when it's messy :). I feel so much sexier than I ever did with long hair because now my eyes, lips and smile pop without that annoying sheet of hair covering everything up. Guys who hate short hair on girls are not worth any lady's time!!

I'm 13 and I just got a pixie cut today :) Before, my hair was halfway down my back and very thick. I think the cut is really cute, and my stylist was talking about how "brave" I was to do this. Wasn't sure how it'd turn out but I love it :)

After years and years with extremely long hair, I finally have the guts to do it! I really want a pixie cut, exactly like yours but with longer bangs :) Long hair just isn't practical for me, I want to show my face off and not have a panic attack every morning spending 3 hours on my hair alone! And what for anyway? Just so it can keep getting in the way of everything and then be tied back in the end. Bleh.
I'm planning to donate mine as well :) Rock on!

hey^^ I love short hair too, I HAVE really short hair but I do not aggree with you saying that short hair didn't need styling. Its just a warning for girls who consider having short hair. Let me tell you: For me it is much work. When I get up I look like a groom. I have wavy hair so i must always blowdry and straighten to make it look okay. I need to use gel to not look like a 40-year-old. And I always need make-up and jewellery to not look like a boy. But I still love it ^^ It looks awesome

i'm a boy, and im totally fascinated with girls with short hair, dont know why but i have a theory. I feel like girls hide a little bit under long hair, like wearing dark glasses or something, but when a girl has it short, i can totally see her eyes and her face, her smile, etc.....plus it just looks sexy, but i prefer it on skinny girls.

I've always had long hair(at least to my shoulders) because I wasn't allowed to cut my hair when I was younger. Well, about two weeks ago, I went into the salon, and told them to chop it all off. They were amazed that I wanted to get a pixie. So far I love it, (the drying time is the best!) even my mom thinks it's cute. :) It's brought a lot of confidence as well, and I can do more with it now.

Turning superficial guys off with my haircut is definitely a pro. I'm not interested in the type of guys who are intimidated by short hair on a girl :) I don't want attention from them. My hair acts as a sort of filter now, only attracting men who are secure in their masculinity and like strong, unique women. What girl wouldn't want that?

My ex boyfriend forbade me from colouring my hair and cutting it, he wanted long brown hair. thats when I ditched him and realized he's an extremely superficial prick...I'm not like that at all. I don't want a guy who cares about my hair, i want him to care about my personality.

If you were wondering, when I said I had an apple shaped body, I didn't mean I was fat, so that's not the problem. The only really big problem is how small my head is!! I'm a swimmer and when I wear my swim cap, it's so awkward looking cuz I got kinda wide shoulders, a REALLY tiny head, I know this kid who can fit the top of my head in his hand!! (but he's a tall guy) well anyways, I fe that I'll regret it later. Tell me what you think!

i've cut my hair as short as the rosemary's baby look (not sure who that is, type rosemary's baby into youtube) and i love it, but im a tomboy so yer u do have 2 be comfortable with what u want, but if u r thinkin about it, i suggest talkin 2 your hairdresser, cause they know best
