The Bible teaches that ALL people are sinful (Romans 3.23) and not just LGBT people. Jesus did not say that 'you are okay as long as you are not gay'.
If it's not explicitly written that --homosexuality is a sin- then maybe it's no more likely to be a sin than the countless other interpreted sins of the past. Some examples are interracial marriage, divorce, working on Sunday, a woman voting, a lobbyist against slavery, eating certain foods, a woman cutting her hair to a certain length, a woman exposing her upper arms, a woman wearing makeup. Besides if a person had to follow all the rules of the land then we would not be able to have sex, drink alcohol, smoke pot, or even masturbate, and all those things make life more pleasurable than death.

Homosexual acts are what is wrong because they are "disordered" in the sense that homosexual sex isn't how we were created to work. It is against the natural order.

You're the one who doesn't get it. When gay people accept themselves, THEY ARE set free. It's those who try to bury their sexualities, try to deny it, fight it, etc who are in bondage. If you did enough observing, you will find that those who embrace their true selves are much happier than those who don't. This is confirmed by sociological research. Whatever your Bible says is irrelevant to the realities of the lives of gay men and women. It is not an authoritative text on the subject.

No "person" is ever going to change a homosexual just as no "person" can ever change an adulterer, drunkard, liar, murderer etc. What CAN change a person and their life is the Holy Spirit, which convicts us of our sin to the point that we HATE sin enough to REJECT it in every circumstance. This HATRED towards our previous life choices brings about repentance which results in a CHANGED HEART, SOUL, BODY, MIND and SPIRIT. Finally we can humble ourselves and admit willingly that YES we need JESUS!

People change physically, spiritually and emotionally to whatever degree. "sexual orientation";That's not what exodus is about or focuses on. This is done by recognizing our need for Jesus and serving him. The other one is done by forming healthy relationships with other people such as friends, family members and people in general. Why do Christians ignore the evidence of the immorality of their behavior towards gay people? For people who claim to care about morality, Christians seem morally irresponsible. As a Christian and Transsexual I believe the Church has a disgraceful record of persecuting gay and transgender people over many centuries. The Bible teaches that ALL people are sinful (Romans 3.23) and not just LGBT people. The obsession with homosexuality that exists in some quarters of the Christian church is neurotic, psychologically unbalanced and Scripturally unsound. Jesus did not say that 'you are okay as long as you are not gay'.

If it's not explicitly written that --homosexuality is a sin- then maybe it's no more likely to be a sin than the countless other interpreted sins of the past. Some examples are interracial marriage, divorce, working on Sunday, a woman voting, a lobbyist against slavery, eating certain foods, a woman cutting her hair to a certain length, a woman exposing her upper arms, a woman wearing makeup. This list could go on and on with the holdings of preachers of the past and some of today.

The medicine I was thinking was the judgment medicine but not executioner. churches don't hesitate to judge according to their interpretation of 'the' bible. Yes. That's my point. None are in scripture. None explicitly reads that they are a sin. They have been established as a sin through interpretation. Just take a browse through history and you will find preachers/churches establishing things as sins that today, most find hard to fathom. As an example. Try going back to the 1940's and having a church not treat you as a sinful woman if you divorced your man. Some do that today

Hundreds of years ago when the Bible was written, there was no understanding homosexuality - just male brothels/prostitutes, (thus the verses written about them). Now that science has opened our eyes to the biological factors of orientation (similiar to science disputing the "sun" being the center of the Universe - despite the bible verse, we all need to take a closer look at this issue. People make one fundamental mistake. Christians (I can only speak for the Catholic Church) do not hate or detest people who are gay at all! Homosexual acts are what is wrong because they are "disordered" in the sense that homosexual sex isn't how we were created to work. It is against the natural order.

Thanks for this! I live near this church and had no idea. I moved here to escape this intolerance after growing up in a Fund. household & fleeing as soon as I was old enough. When I was ~10 and being knocked over the head with "gay is wrong", going home and praying not to be gay, I would feel "cured" for about a min. "Therapy" can't change biology & why should someone else's idea of right that is not hurting anyone else be forced upon me and make me miserable. Thanks Christianity, now go away.
