I wonder if anyone could help me. I recently bought this same motor MK riptide 101 lb. I have 1 deep cycle battery, 2 starter batteries (all 12 V) wired in series. The motor on full speed seems only to get 1-3 mph on high, either boat I use, no more than my 30lb motor. Could it be the 2 starter batteries?
I actually have a Vector 101, 36 volt, probably about the same thing, I believe yours is set up for salt water. My batteries are all deep cycle. Are you using a canoe. My reading were from my hand held gps unit.
only 6mph? try waxing the hull ;) i have a 14'... with myself, my brother(460 lb combined) 3 batteries(~120 lb), and a full cooler (30 lb) we could get 11.3 knots.. about 13 mph.... kinda scary hitting a small wave at that speed.. have fun and be safe :D
i don't remember the output but it was one you'd use on a boat of about 30ft.. it was about 2 years ago and I no longer own the motor.. i do know it was 24v but we added an extra battery to see what we could get out of it.. we were getting about 8.5kt before i waxed the hull.. so that actually helps a lot.. the major problem was that the batteries were going dead after about 45 mins and the motor was too hot
how long will the batt last, and how many?

I have a sailboat canoe from " Sailboats to go .com " and a 50 LB thrust with 2 big 900 crank amp deep cycles.
QESTION with the motor turn on at full 5 speed top gear ? I ONLY do it for 15 minutes before turning it down.

What type of electric trolling motor ( how many lbs of thrust) are you using to get the 13mph.
thanks, Phil
