I had State Farm and did not have the Underinsured protection as I did not know it existed. I could not sue (as they-insurance companies give as their reason for not offering Underinsured coverage) as the driver could could simply file bankruptcy. Believe me. I am in pain and was definately not compensated for my injuries. GET the coverages from an independent agent. Check your policies for 2 U's. It is wrong to require drivers to buy insurance but not offer coverage that protects them.
