thank you! just be persistent with your chin, but not threatening. place your hands in his cage like they're another place he could sit, but don't chase him around. just give him the option. he'll get used to you, and should eventually come to you.

that happens with my chinchilla i have a portable keyboard, and she will just hop up there and start running up and down the keys. i was teaching myself to play canon and she jumped right up there and all of a sudden you hear a deep note

i've had loki since he was born. i literally held him in my hand a minute after he came into the world. his mom still lives with me too. she's actually better about being held and interacting with people.

loki turned 7 last month. he was really spazzy until about 3 years ago.

I don't know mabye it's just me mine but everytime i play my guitar my chinchila freaks out and starts runnig and hiding and squeaks from an unknown location in a dark corner of the room and i have to bring him out with treats...

yeah, it really depends on the chinchilla... if i play while loki is in his cage, he will sit as close to me as his cage will allow... just the sound of taking the pick out of the strings gets him to bolt to that side of the cage...

This is so weird. I had a chinchilla in the 70's (Waldo) who used to be obsessed with my acoustic guitar. He'd rest his head on my arm as I played and go to sleep. WEIRD!! I guess chinchi's are music lovers.
