foxconn is one of the biggest contract manufacturers for electronics... hon hai precision industry is the chinese original name. the company makes all kinds of devices, that are sold under many brand names... sony, apple, hp and virtually other bigger computer company has foxconn and others manufacturing their devices.

and yes, this is the same device... viewsonic has the foxconn netbox on sale using it's brand name in certain markets. lars did a hands-on on that one, you're totally right about that :)
