  • There are NOT EASTERN AND WESTERN RITES - this is nonsense. There is ORTHODOX RITE and HETERODOX RITE.

  • You all fighting can have your differances, but remember there are larger issues facing christianaity then the small differances between the filioque, and the issue of the Holy Father as Patriach of the whole west, I hear that recently the popes have been not using that title as often anyway. The Humanist Progressive Secular agenda and the works of the devil are a threat to us all, not to mention non denominational christians that steal our flocks and terrorests in the holy land.

  • well i am not too familiar on the eastern rite liturgy, i only get to see it online. but those i've spoken with assure me that it is unchange. and just becaus they change it doesn't mean it has become latinized. if they don't speak latin and don't go to the latin church and don't have to go to the latin priest when theirs are around, they are not latinized. the latin church itself isn't latinized, and it needs to be

  • ok dude or dudette there is no roman superiority and missionary among the orthodox, that's why we have eastern catholics. they are united with the Pope and not under the Pope or did u miss that part? They also do not get latinized or whatever. They keep their liturgy. They are not inferior.

  • ofcourse there's always some kind of conspiracy theory right? you can't find who to blame? blame it on the easy target, the catholic church. i won't even bother my time with you. you've read whateva u want to read, and have concluded ur mind, u won't even see it if i show u how wrong u are. peace

  • missionaries did not invade east and covert people, maybe you should start getting your history from credible sources first before you educate us on our own history.

if you didn't understand what he meant by "pretend orthodox churches" maybe you should have asked him first before going on a tirade.

  • in continuation, you have absolutely no idea whether the Guriru is roman catholic or eastern catholic, please don't think that all the churches in the east are the same. the eastern catholics have the exact same beliefs as the western catholics (roman catholic) so be careful how you say things, you may show your ignorance.

the maronites have always been formally under the pope, they will tell you that themselve.

  • 3. those that you mention were not introduced by the Roman church, they have always been there, in your line of reasoning it would be proper to say that the Trinity was introduced in 325 AD, but we know very well that the Trinity has always been there. We know that cultures are different, even within the Roman Church there are different cultures and ethics, and not one of them is inferior, stop going by your opinions start making comments based on facts.

  • 1. the roman rite has nothing to do with white or european or roman superiority, don't show your ignorance, by stating what you said you are no better than GuRiRu

    2. they are not more committed to the practices of the Church, please don't forget that the Catholic Church is not just Roman it is also consisting of the 22 eastern catholic churches who also hold on to the ancient practie of the church, again if you think so, you show your ignorance

  • empty...

  • Just so we are clear, this is a Catholic church right, not one of the pretend 'orthodox' churches that copy us.

  • To be clear: This church is indeed Catholic!

  • The Orthodox do not pretend to be us. We stem from the same tradition, and have unfortunately parted ways.

"Slander not one another, my brethren. He that slanders his brother, or he that judges his brother, slanders the Law, and judges the Law." James 4:11

In your deeds, words, and thoughts, show forth God's hope for the unity of Christians everywhere. One day, it may come to pass.

  • Indeed it may one day come about, but I do not think that they are ready. They would have to align their teachings to that of the Catholic Church and they are yet unwilling in the general sense though they do have shining examples of orthodoxy. I do not mean about Filioque and what not. I mean about abortion, divorce, stem cells, women's ordination, gay marriage, contraception and a host of other issues. They aren't ready, and those that are keep seeing bad Catholics instead of our bishops.
