Also, the European Union didn't actually come about as a means to end intra-European conflict, as the video claimed; the EU was really formed to encourage economic growth and political cooperation as a means of strengthening Western Europe against the Soviet Union (and the U.S.). Because North America doesn't face those existential problems, there's no reason for some "North American Union" to ever be created.
