As a showman, Roth cannot be topped but Hagar is a much better musician, writer/lyricist, and ALWAYS gives his fans the best show!!!

i am definitely viva van hagar. sammy is a much more soulful and not a flashy poster boy like roth. hes got a more original voice as well and hes all about the mood of the band.

Roth was a great frontman/showman, but here is the best talent Van Halen ever saw. Cherone and Roth are both great singers, but Sammy is a musician, vocalist and artist who's combined talents can't be matched by many. He still has the same voice from 20 years ago and he's about the music and the fans, not the fame and fortune(tho i'm sure they are nice)

I hear so much Sammy-criticism & feel he is very much under-rated in the Rock world. This song, in particular, is so much proof that Hagar is phenomenal. The lyrics speak from his soul & he sings it with such emotional power too, I can't get enough of it. "Dreams" and "Love Comes Walking In", also his from VH (5150 album), are equally powerful & just further proves to me, Sammy's greatness. Van Halen were just plain wrong to let Sammy go, & to do it in the way that they did. Rock on Sammy!

I prefer Roth, but I agree with you. Sammy is very underrated, and is a great singer. Although I am Roth fan, I do not hate Sammy, or vice versa.

Sorry but all the Hagar shows rocked and so did the older Roth shows, but man I went to a Cherone show in '98 and a new Roth reunion show in '08 and I felt like the both show the singers were acting like they were gay? I couldn't take it, the tough kick ass rock and roll stuff Van Halen did with Dave and Sammy are gone.

Too bad Eddie just doesn't have it anymore.
