also when the houses are located quite close together you get a ricocheting effect from the noise and the noise is increased.I hope its not by the bedrooms.....
Should talk to the neighbors about how the sound is affecting your residence and suggest they buy a muffling system for their ventilation. They are about 42 dollars in Canada and work wonders.
This is not very loud. If the law says 50dB is the limit, it means 50dB measured from inside your residence. Chances are you took your measurement from near the source of the sound, not from inside your residence, so unfortunately your only solution is either to arrange a time when they turn off the device (if possible), or earplugs. Retaliation only makes things worse, and may bother additional people.
@theredscourge I am sorry but if a person has 50 decibels inside their house it is actionable.Once the sound crosses the boundaries of the property and is inside your house it is considered a nuisance and is actionable by the standards of common law. 50 decibels on their property should not affect the adjacent property. It becomes a disruption of one's quiet enjoyment which by law everyone is entitled too.... quiet enjoyment of ones property Common law will prevail over municipal laws....
@brownsugah66 i do not see how that disagrees with anything i said. all i know for sure is posting this on youtube is not the proper solution, approaching the neighbours about it, and if a solution cannot be found, take it to the municipality, if they refuse to act, either sue or move.
@theredscourge Yes posting it on YouTube may not be the answer however people get frustrated by how many people lack the civility in this modern day and age and are deprived of the quiet usage of their home..Using this as an anonymous outlet may be the only relief from the stress they get.... and I did mention other alternatives to this situation in 2 more postings.50 decibels is an interference with the use and enjoyment of the property whether you don't find it loud or not
no one wants 50 decibels of someone else's noise inside of his/her house with the windows closed... you can not control it and it drives you crazy....All the people complaining about the wind farms giving them 50 decibels inside of their home have all right to complain as low frequency noises are just as harmful as high frequency ones more and more studies are indicating this...
@brownsugah66 And I am sorry, but obviously the noise is not 50 decibels within the house with the windows closed. 50 decibels of noise inside the house exceeds the legal limit in most jurisdictions, thus something would be able to be done about the issue.
@theredscourge I am sorry but you are incorrect.I have the same problem with my neighbors house and the noise from their machinery and ventilation invades my home.It is because of where their builder located the ventilation and also where they put their A/C.The noise is in our bedrooms. The city came and measured the noise and it is 51 decibels inside of my house,,,when it is like this you now have a private nuisance issue and according to the city you can sue !!!!!
@theredscourge When the windows are closed you have sound amplification because the houses are too close together. They are 7 feet apart. LFN waves travel farther and are harder to get rid of.It sounds like a diesel engine running. When the city officials came they said "oh my it sounds like a diesel engine running"Think about that running all day and night long when you are trying to sleep .
@theredscourge I forgot the noise limits for these appliances is well above 50 db and according to bylaws they can blow that noise anywhere along the point of reception
I always find that when my living environment becomes unbearable due to one reason or another (usually either noise or psychotic landlords), it's just God's way of telling me it's time to move on, and each time I (finally, after a lot of stalling and complaining) do move on, I always end up somewhere better -- until the next annoyance comes along. Just a thought. Housing prices are still up -- now is probably the best time to sell, and not everyone will be put off by your neighbour's racket.
By the amount of steam/smoke whatever the vapour is, that looks more like a dryer fan working. you could ask them to put a small short panel fence to block the view and act as a noise barrier. Or you could do nothing and suck it up as being a good neighbor. Either way works.
@tom080955 Tom a good neighbor keeps his noise to himself and remembers that every man's home is his castle.Use your property so as not to injure your neighbor.....
I'm amazed from the get-go that this kind of thing is produced making that kind of noise - like they couldn't invent something quieter? I can't imagine ANY house they'd put this on that didn't cause noise issues.
Don't they hear it in their own house? Sounds like a generator.
If anyone wonders why gugagagugo left this comment, here's why. They're responding to my pro-Free-Tibet comments I've left on youtube. gugagagugo has been leaving obscene comments at a number of my videos in order to intimidate me. gugagagugo's profile indicates he/she is pro-Chinese government (living in Canada) and is resorting to childish remarks. I plan to leave their comments for posterity. FREE TIBET!
I would even offer to buy it for them and if that doesn't work try a really good solid fence with no gaps or holes to block it....
