I'm also certainly not jealous of a singer. I don't plan on becoming a pop star, ever, so I have no reason to be envious or "threatened" by him, for the same reasons I'm not envious or threatened by someone like Jonathan Coulton. But hey, at least Jonathan Coulton is a nice, funny guy.

He is no more overpaid than any other entertainer or athelete in this world. He works, he makes money, he spends it, and he lives a life most have never even dreamt of. Good for him.

The only reason it matters is because he's idolized and made out to be flawless, when he's just another person. He's also helped almost completely eradicate polio in third world countries, and he's saved millions of lives. Or Norman Borlaug, whose research in creating high-yield disease resistant wheat variants, among many other things, is estimated to have saved over a billion lives. They are inspirations. Justin Bieber is not.

The only reason it matters is because he's idolized and made out to be flawless, when he's just another person.
