Love the monkey form movements he does at the end. Does anyone know which version of the monkey style this is? I know he says "stone monkey technique" but there are lots of different branches.
hey, i know this is an old video, but for how long did you train there, and how was your outcome, besides educating yourself with knowledge and wisdom?
i trained with hisham about once or twice a week for most of the time i was training in time, about 6 or seven months. in taiwan i trained at about three places because no one offered full time training.
@brooklynmonk1 How do you finance your full time training. I am trying to figure out a way to do this. What I mean is working, but having more than an average amount of time training?
@jmikejapan My full time job is Being-the-Monk, that pays most of my bills. But when that runs short, I teach, because I have a graduate degree in teaching. Also, I live very cheaply. If I didnt live like Ghandi, i wouldn't have so much freedom.
@brooklynmonk1 Cool. Do you find it difficult to get so many visas? Are you stationary for now or are you still traveling a lot? I'm sorry for asking such personal questions, but I am trying to figure out how to do what you are doing. You have my dream job, so I am trying to learn the ropes to make my dream a reality.
Hisham has excellent equipment but it is all specially designed by him and custom made. there is a grappling dummy that wieghts 50 KGs and a low kick bag that weighs like one million
Wonderful Master ! The only thing that i have found in Chinese Martial arts is that they cater toward defending other Chinese styles. For instance a western style punch retracts very fast and the pugilist will maintain his balance ( not over committing ). It all goes down so fast. The master seems very versatile and capable.
excellent as always. i can just imagine getting hit with his arms. i hope you took advantage and learned some monkey kung fu, i have alway wanted too. take care.
